Ronald Koeman discussion

We needed ONE THING: a defence that were disciplined enough to defend.

What we didn't need is a dramatic change in style of play with the players we have
. But that's what Dutch Pulis has handed us.
Sick that I agree with Dave here. Koeman ideal winger is an Anichebe/Kilbane hybrid, hardworking and strong first, technical ability and vision much further down the list

He was sacked because of the unacceptable results. He lost 9 games out of 18 from this time last year till the inevitable sacking. 29.33% winning rate in 75 matches. If he stays on he will takes us down. You know that we know that he had lost the dressing room.

You can stamp your feet all you want mate. The ONLY relegation threatened season we had after Smith was put in by Moyes. The histrorical data backs that up 100%.

I'm not bed wetting mate. I expect a big improvement from this feller, because it can't be any worse in many respects.

Worst brand of football I've seen since Walter Smiths time here. Ugly and completely without merit.
Winning more though. Ron has been here since late summer. He hasnt even been here even 6 months. That's reason enough to keep a spare pair of undies when staying over at a friends.
I support Everton FC not aesthetic football FC. I'd like to combine the two with 3pts being a regular occurrence. I can tolerate boring footy as long as as it has an end point that involves improving on winning football or getting better players and improving the style.
If no big improvement/in Europe, once he's had a decent period of time in the job- fair enough.

I don't think you watched the same Leicester game I did then mate. We tried to play the short-passing game, didn't get forward with it so knocked it back to keeper or defender who then hoofed it. We saw pretty much the same last season too.

I would agree Koeman is, at least currently, adopting a safety first attitude, and, as far as vocal posters on forums go, you're probably right with the "and if it continues it won't be tolerated by the majority."

But, if it's seen as a means to an end and a temporary measure, then the majority of Evertonians will be happy to go along with it for at least the rest of this season and probably next season too.

Don't be fooled into thinking a few noisy posters on a forum represent a majority. Most Evertonians are reasonable, patient people.
I said this to someone yesterday and they agreed I'd take the long ball at the moment to just get the results But I wouldn't want it as a long term thing mate good results and grafting a win out means more for me ATM the passing game is not working for us and the squad seem not cut out to do it succesfully ATM

Why do you always seem to imply that defence is the responsibility of solely the back four or five , that is the rank amateur airhead style of the last manager. When you are not in possession the WHOLE team has to work hard at limiting the options and trying to regain possession, not stand round waiting for an increasingly beleaguered defence to prevent a goal and regain the ball for them. It's not a new concept it's as old as the game. When we failed defensively it was the fault of the WHOLE team not just the back four. That alone needed a major fix.
Total Football is boss lad but is something that a smart manager will be able to implement over a course of several years with a prerequisite that every player is great with possession first, not just good engines.

You'd give him all next season as well as this to perpetrate this trip brand of hoofball? That's very reasonable of you. I doubt many others will.

All we can do is judge what we've seen thus far. It's been woeful, just woeful. He needs to get the ball down and start playing and constructing moves. What player of any quality would want to join an outfit like this? We'll be shedding out quality like Deulofeu and Barkley over the course of the next 12 months. Our typical player is going to be some drone who can run and do little else. He sickened both Tadic and Mane when he was down at Southampton and he's done that again up here with us.

Still, he has it within his grasp to change his ways. Let's hope he takes it. I for one am completely embarrassed by this Everton team he's putting together. To think that football people around the world are watching us play like this is mortifying. I fear we have a huff and puff manager. Fabien Favre was the right choice, and we failed to swoop for him when he was willing to come. Evertons loss is Nice's gain.

You see we can agree on something , Favre was my first choice as well. You know what they say , great minds think alike and fools seldom differ. :)
