Ronald Koeman discussion

So many people desperate for there to be two sides in the Koeman thread, why can't people be allowed to criticise when things are bad and praise when things are good, it doesn't all have to be black and white all the time.

They can, the problems usually occur when you get a couple of posters obviously out to get a reaction.

Take yesterday for example.

To come on right at the death of a nice tidy 3-0 home win and immediately try to detract from the positive we should try and glean from it, one of these usual suspects tries to belittle it as it went against everything he had hoped for. It is so obvious to some, but for people people that are not sure to take it a a wind up or not and don't see it that way then take him to task.

The forum is overrun with wannabe WUM's and not very hilarious japesters! so when people want to come on and chat about football they are met with this kind of stuff.

None of this should be taken too seriously of course as its only football. But it was clearly pointed out to the guy that Southampton actually had fresher players than us. Yet as predicted he ignored that point completely and carried on with his tiresome crusade.

People respond, they are apparently stalking and bullying him! Or is that a wind up as well? Don't think anybody knows any more.

Most of those who are critical of Koeman seem to think he inherited a very good squad, all of who were underperforming, and that with a few tweaks, we would all be booking hotels for our European tour, nothing could be further from the truth.
In fact, he was asked, along with Walsh to build a team for Europe and some 100m would be made available plus any money from sales of players, if you choose to believe they will do this or not is immaterial.
We were all a little disappointed with the lack of signings in the summer, however, the signing of Williams and Gana were a success and after initial doughts, Valencia, while maybe not the answer to the question, is starting to repay his loan fee.
Any manager at any level needs to assess his players, his first conclusion they were 70% fit, which we all should agree on, following that he has given run out for every player to see what he wants and those he can let go, at the same time he has looked at some youth players, and after substitute appearances he has added three to the match day squads, he also has three others earmarked has potential for next season this may well increase, depending on Galloway returning, and the how Browning and Williams recover from their long-term injuries.
He has also decided that around 10 or twelve on the roster are surplus to requirements and in the next two windows will be moved on, now as I understand it, he along with Walsh, have identified who they want and as he said on Saturday "now it is up to the board".
Only this time next year we will know if he his on the right track.
The endless critics on Koeman will have one reason or another to criticise him, they do not want him or like him, as the scorpion said, "it is in my nature I cannot help it".
I believe he will do the job for us given the time, but a word of caution Barcelona are looking to replace their manager and Koeman is high on their list.

I agree with some points, I wasn't really aiming at @davek, he has his own views, he lays them out succinctly and sticks to his beliefs. I notice quite a few can't wait for him to log on just to start causing grief and calling him all sorts.

I was just talking in general, it's like if you say something negative then that's your stance and you're not allowed to change it but that's not the case. Be fair and criticise when you are unhappy and praise when you are happy.

Well yes, as most sensible people know, football has a way of making you look stupid. So today's hero can be tomorrows chump.

Always best to take things on a case by case basis and not over commit ;)

If you put all your eggs in one basket and deem for example, Koeman needs sacking after less than 6 months in the job when we are sat 7th, as least be gracious enough to admit you may have dived in two footed a bit early!

Apparently he is their No 1 target to take over. I wonder how much compo we would get with two years left on his contract?
Sunderland could just scrape it and stay up, bit of a merry go round but we could end up with `Moyesiah` back in Summer plenty of compo
and a refurbed ground ..... `balance is restored` ...........

I was guilty as charged and I did hold my hands up that I bolted too early. It's ok to be wrong, nobody is perfect like.

That's not to say I'm happy just willing to reign in the sack him shouts.

So zat, your opinion is he should have come in and by say November dropped two senior players in jags and Barry for Davies and holgate, or even earlier.

By the way that's exactly what he did at Valencia which you have been criticising him for, also as an added amusing little bit, one of those players given his chance at Valencia due to him dropping underperforming ageing pkayers like angulo was a young academy player called Mata.
Except mate, even when Koeman does drop a senior player for a youth player, he won't even offer anything positive towards the manager for it.

It is a personal attack on koeman and has been since day one. So it is entirely bias and speaks more about what he says when after a win with 2 youth players starting he is on here talking about koeman 10 years ago, which even yourself has put him wrong on.

I'm not a fan of Koeman, but it's madness to be making any sort of call on him at this stage. I've seen some good, some bad. It's a credit to him that my biggest complaint about him so far is that he looks like a man-baby
