I understand that, but surely we should (now) be concentrating on the current manager, the future with the current squad, the potentially enhanced squad at the end of January and how RK performs going forward ?
The contrast is so stark it's impossible not to be able to see Koemans strengths in terms of the what went before - and in turn realise how poor it was before.

Devils advocate here, yes flukes happen but you can't take away the fact it happened, they still achieved it so for that period of time yes they were at the top of their game. If flukes didn't happen, Wimbledon would never have won the FA Cup :p

It's also not true anyone can win a cup, plenty haven't.

It is true that anyone can win a cup... anyONE can ... not everyone.. luck of the draw , luck during games , penalty shoot outs.

The RS managed to win the champs league disputes never winning the prem...
That's why people like cup competitions because it throws up upsets... takes 6 games to win.. you don't have to be the best team in the Comp to win it

He's always been provided with limitless funds at both Barcelona and Munich with world class teams already assembled.

Pep inherited a Barcelona squad that finished behind Villareal and 18 points behind Real Madrid the previous season. He cut Deco and Ronaldinho loose and won everything for 3 years while promoting a load of youth players. City are an ageing squad and he's only been there 6 months. Mental to call him a poor manager because he's had one rough patch in his entire career imo

Those two years have cost us.

They havnt really.

After those 2 years we are still in our usual position, nobody major has left (Stones maybe but he always was going to) and we are seemingly on the cusp of big investment and a major ground move.

So what exactly has it cost us? Two seasons of finishing slightly higher up the league?

i dont know why people still go on about it. Its over, it doesnt matter any more.

No. Two years of stagnation where the top six sides have (bar an anomaly last year) improved dramatically in terms of revenue, squad quality and management.

It's a larger gap to bridge now than it was - and it was big back then.

Promote a load of youth players you say?
