Ronald Koeman discussion

Tbf there is a difference between folding limply in the first round of each cup and progressing even if only a few stages further - for a start gives us more games to watch/listen to rather than than nothing other than the league to look forsward to.
I agree, I'm not happy we've gone out, I love a Wembley trip, but this is nothing new. We went one better only 2 seasons ago and went out at the first attempt in both rounds.

Still not prepared to alter my stance on Koeman. It's not the manager that needs changing it's the squad. That said, can't deny I'm dissapointed by the influence he had thus far. Expected so much more from this season and from him.

Again, always stated that imo he deserves to have three windows to get it right. If he hasn't by then, I have no objections to call it a day. Always liked Koeman as a manager and a person. The choice between him and Everton is an easy one however.

Edit: the point of always liking Koeman is not strictly true. Have to be careful with @chicoazul 's vaulting skills
I agree. I hope Koeman will come good. However, I had my doubts about him especially from his period in Valencia, and this doubts are still here. I am willing to give him until March/April to start turning things around. But the start has not been particularly good for a 6 mill pound manager. Outplayed by Bornemouth, Burnley, Watford and Swansea and kicked out from both cups by the mighty Norwich and Leicester. Not good enough so far.

Of course. No one is denying that. The extremes are the ones that make for good conversation, god bless em.

Honestly, our cup perfomances (if they could be called that) are a massive black mark against him already. Any sort of run would keep his doubters enthusiastic enough, but I wouldn't underplay this. When we're looking at this season in review, it's going to make for grim reading barring an incredible run in the league

I reckon most of the players know he's gonna get rid so they've stopped playing.

We really can't stand still in this window now if that's the case. We need 3 players in next week, through the door and holding that shirt up. None of this haggling over fees bollocks, just pay whatever we get quoted and get it done. We are as desperate as we've ever been.

Another game and I don't care about the result.

I'm a little lethargic about it and frustrated again sure.

Just refuse to get worked up anymore about a result when we have half the players we have here. Why be that arsed? Any team that fields kone and Barry and wonders why they aren't winning the game needs a reality check like going out the cup.

Whether we do something about it is another thing. Meaningless sponsoring training grounds and cladding and paying off debts if it just ends up that the club don't invest in the team and proactively look to rebuild the squad based on what happens on the pitch.

I feel for him a bit. It sounded like we did well right up until we scored. This mental frailty and ineptitude is something we have seen time and time again from this set of players over the past 3 years.

The board failed him badly in the summer by not bringing in the players he wanted, now they need to act and give him a chance to show what he can do with players that aren't completely useless most of the time.

Yep. No doubt. I'm not praising him here, I'm very neutral, but TBF I thought it was gonna be fireworks with chants if "OUT" at every turn, but it's been reasonable, I've barely mentioned Martinez.
