Ronald Koeman discussion

I agree, I'm not happy we've gone out, I love a Wembley trip, but this is nothing new. We went one better only 2 seasons ago and went out at the first attempt in both rounds.
For all his faults though at least there was something post New Year in each of Martinez's seasons - in the first challenging for the CL places, the second had Europa and the third the domestic cups.

Not saying that Koeman should be turfed out of anything but between the generally boring football and early cup exits Koeman is a touch underwhelming so far.

I reckon most of the players know he's gonna get rid so they've stopped playing.

We're not selling or buying an entire team...

There are maybe three or four players who your comment may be relevant to, the majority of the squad will be required for the rest of the season and well into next season. Teams don't change overnight, as I'm sure you know.

Of course. But a lack of motivation can be infectious.

Thing is, the same players who stopped playing for their former manager as well?

To be perfectly honest, I would let all of them go. I do genuinely believe that most of them need to be sold and replaced simply based on the attitudes they have. The only one I can think of who isn't past it/terrible/poor attitude is Coleman. Excluding the new signings obviously , but these players need replacing, or at least enough of them do to send a message that it isnt acceptable to not fight on the pitch. Because we know they can, they just choose not to when we really need them to.

So yeah, I'd say only sheamus should be kept, the rest should be sellable, any club who wants success wouod ship them out no matter how good they are.

Agreed with the bottom paragraph, won't entertain any positive from Martinez post 13/14. Far far too many weekends ruined.

Yep. No doubt. I'm not praising him here, I'm very neutral, but TBF I thought it was gonna be fireworks with chants if "OUT" at every turn, but it's been reasonable, I've barely mentioned Martinez.

I don't think anyone has seriously suggested Koeman's removal as anything more than a joke. We're all backing him, but our brief and lethargic cup forays, more than any of our bad results in the league, will be a source of anxiety for those of us who already had our doubts about him. I don't think that's unfair either.

Have to agree.

My worry is he'll spend £100mill and still have us 5th to 8th and maybe a decent cup run.

Will jet off to Dortmund or somewhere. Then we'll hopefully get a manager that wins things after

Hahaha are you having a laugh????

Man utd spend 300 mill and are 6th in the league and you think with spending 100 mill 5th place is not good enough???

Some people here really living in their own Everton dreamworld.

Honestly, our cup perfomances (if they could be called that) are a massive black mark against him already. Any sort of run would keep his doubters enthusiastic enough, but I wouldn't underplay this. When we're looking at this season in review, it's going to make for grim reading barring an incredible run in the league

Martinez just about survived on his cup runs with that squad.

Koeman's cup record at Southampton is equally shocking to be fair (out in round 4 then round 3 both at home)
