Ronald Koeman discussion

You can back a manager and hope he sorts things out whilst still expressing reservations about the progress, or lack of it, you are seeing.

We seem slightly better in our defensive organisation but the number of chances we create, specially in the first half of games, is pretty dire. Also don't think any of the players have noticeabley improved over the past few weeks - you'd expect a good coach to at least be able to get his concepts across to one or two even as he awaits his own recruits.
For the love of god, THIS.
Some are giving it big about how we should get behind him. What is he producing his warrants such?
All we do is run lots. *clap clap clap*.

We won't progress without signings. There will be no trophies and no Europe until the squad is overhauled.

I've never been more convinced of anything in my life.

If you rate our squad as trophy winners or top 4 competitors then fine, but this viewpoint baffles me personally.

There are players who were engraved with the Moyes way, tight solid shape, those players then had to try and adapt to Martinez and his possession is everything, defending is nothing approach. These players partially adapted to this in the first season and caught a lot of people by surprise but in time the inevitable happened and Martinez destroyed the defensive mentality and work rate that Moyes put into them. Martinez got in players to suit his 'way' who evidently can't defend and actually couldn't pass keep the ball and the Martinez way was found out big time.

Koeman brought in a couple of players in the summer, one of whom is or should I say was the mould of what he wants, especially the attacking part of the pitch in Bolasie. He obviously wanted more than had been brought in, just look at how ruthless he was with Niasse after just 20 minutes in Austria.

We all know how many players the squad needs binning, regardless of the result we have the same players underperforming consistently.

But I, and a few others, don't know who he wants to build a team around.

So for the ones under performing, will he bring in players to help or get rid? You get the impression Barkley, Lukaku can easily be dumped. Is Bolasie the main guy?

Is he gonna go out and buy a star player? Or does he want 11 work horses.

There's nothing substantial for me to say "yeah, 100% behind him"

This certainly isn't all Koeman's fault, but the way some people point blank to accept that he is in any way responsible for regular shambolic performances is cringeworthy.

Yes we have deadwood, yes we need to bring players in, but some of the terrible football we play, some of the mind boggling substitutions, and some of the frankly ridiculous comments to the media, are solely at the feet of the manager.

He will get time, and he will get backing, but how any fan can pay to sit through that debacle today and just say 'ah bless him, he's only been able to sign 7 of his own players, there's no way we can possibly expect him to get past the 3rd round' is way beyond my comprehension.
