Ronald Koeman discussion

lovely comments from Koeman, exactly what we need him to be saying.

the fact is players in that squad aren't good enough and do need to be sold. The fact that Koeman isn't a work with what he has type of manager and is genuinely pointing out he wants to get rid of players out of there tells me only one thing. That he deems them not good enough either, he can see what we see and he is rebuilding the squad which is fantastic to hear.

Koeman is giving our players the gift of surprise

And us on here the gift of hysteria, which will soon be on it's way when a certain person reacts to these comments from him

Makes a Friday move a bit quicker at least ;)

Oh mate, there's some SERIOUS vaulting that's going to happen in that Funes Mori thread if that happens
I like mori, think he is in the heitinga syndrome. 'he's crap him lad, not good enough, sell him' except he keeps getting taken out the team and can't build any sort of partnership up with anyone in the process.

I like him, think he is passionate, bought into the shirt and even if he would jump at a barca interest in him, least he works hard and plays for the badge on his shirt.

I would sell a lot of players before him, we need that bit of passion.

Yep, some good points here. I'm surprised there wasn't a bit more push back on the Funes Mori shout but I think he is as good as gone in the summer.

Oviedo, yes agree there. Gibson too. Sadly Mirallas also as you say.

Not sure on McCarthy. Think with Schneiderlin in now, that's Gueye and him as the starting pair, Davies who he clearly rates, Barry with the new deal - four players for the two starting spots. Davies has years ahead of him so can be eased in and Barry is your 'experience when necessary'. Not sure McCarthy has a role anymore.

Left field and regrettable shout would be Barkley on that list.

Also, when Besic is back McCarthy will be even further down the pecking order.

I am sort of with you on that, he gives his all and looks like he enjoys the rough side of defending. But he scares the living daylights out of me when he is on the ball

We doubled his wages, that's why he is here and if another club come offering him a massive rise he'd take that as well.

I'm fine with it, I accept it as long as he improves us. He's just never lasted too long in his managerial career.

You seem to be like one of them women in soaps " Yeah, he's a bad boy and all that but he'll change for me "
What on earth are you talking about?! What nonsense is this about women in soap operas and trying to change Koeman. Were have I said that or anything even close to it! What a load of crap!

I'm simply saying that if we expect your argument (feeble and unfounded as it is) that he's a total mercenary strictly here only for the cash can you please tell me another club right now that would better his wages? Because the only way that will happen is if he goes to Arsenal or a European equivalent and makes the step up and why would they be interested in him right now? It's not that I'm saying he wouldn't drop us, I'm saying nobody would come in for him that he'd drop us for. Because they wouldn't pay him what we have and that's only if we expect your argument that he's a complete mercenary and not here for any other reasons.

Just extended Barry

True, but off the back of a decent season and actually being a regularly playing member of the squad. Barry is marmite, but I can see the value in offering him an extension as a squad player and for his experience. If we hadn't gone all hollywood bids this January, he'd have had an even bigger part to play.
