Ronald Koeman discussion

:oops:o_Olol You tell 'em. Who should Ron bring in this window, as he's not going to get sacked obv. I mean if you had to pick on or two game changers?

I've said consistently this transfer window I'd make only one addition: Sigurdsson. That at least would offer us another string to our bow. The rest can wait until the summer because the season is over.

How anyone here could not trust their own views on players and instead defer to someone else (including managers) is alien to me. I could give a flying one if Koeman thought differently about a player than I do. Same went for Martinez and Moyes when they were here.
He asked if you felt you knew MORE than Koeman and Walsh, not whether you trusted your own judgement

But he bought them. And letting them go was not a public execution.

Koeman and Kendall - chalk and cheese.

I know he bought them. 7 in about 2 weeks. Is that not a case of not having faith in the current players of the time. All we had to do was add 2 + 2 to get the correct answer of 4. What has Koeman done to give a public execution that is different. Both have done what most managers would do by getting players in that they want and get players out that they don't want. Only Big Nev was a success out of those 7 and it was years later that he made the goalie position his own. Time is a valuable asset to any manager building a team not 6 months.

Some fair points and I wasn't a big fan before he was appointed based on his track record but I was prepared to be won over. The way he's conducted himself publicly is poor and it has worsened my opinion of him. I just don't think in the long run that you get anywhere by publically slagging off players and criticising others whilst generally failing to take any responsibility. I also don't think that's the way a successful Everton manager should operate.

I don't think I've exaggerated everything he says or does to make a point and that's an easy way of dismissing valid criticism. At the end of the day his results will determine which view of his managerial approach is correct.
His managerial approach has already yielded success during his career something you continually gloss over. However you are right that from our point of view the proof of the pudding will be results on the pitch.
Just out of interest who did you want as manager ? I was hoping for Favre for the record.

But how is buying players and evolving away from the players you inherit the same as publicly declaring your playing staff not fit for purpose.

Im just not getting the similarities here between our greatest ever manager - a humble genius and excellent man manager - with some blow hard Dutchman who's done nothing in comparison and who throws his own players under the bus by the shed full.

Did S'ton make up a 9 point gap on 6th place?

League table after 20 games last season mate

1 Arsenal 42
2 Leicester 40
3 Man City 39
4 Tottenham 36
5 Man Utd 33
6 West Ham 32
7 Crystal Palace 31
8 Liverpool 30
9 Watford 29
10 Stoke 29
11 Everton 27
12 West Brom 26
13 Southampton 24

Final Table

1 Leicester City (C) 81
2 Arsenal 71
3 Tottenham Hotspur 70
4 Mancester City 66
5 Manchester United 66
6 Southampton 63
7 West Ham United 62
8 Liverpool 60
9 Stoke City 51
10 Chelsea 50
11 Everton 47
12 Swansea City 47

After 20 games they where 8 points behind the 6th placed team, they ended up finishing 1 point ahead of them, so yeah actually Dave they did close a 9 point gap on the 6th placed team last season

The season is not really over because 7th might well get us into Europe and also the teams above all lose, so as we strengthen you never now.
