Could Sigurdson be the answer to that conundrum?
 
I'm hoping we can get our identity back that we had under Martinez for good football and winning football, which we saw in his first season here for the first time since the 80s. Koemans task is to get that reputation back AND secure the defence.

Is he up to it? We'll see.

Good win today but he's still been a turgid manager for this season as a whole.

Koeman wants a pressing aggressive game, I think he got that today. Given the energy and aggression that young Davies shows I am sure we will see a lot of him in the team from now on. Just a thought, but, I am not sure that McCarthy is surplus to requirements here, he is very definitely a Koeman type player and while not a regular starter I can see Koeman viewing him as excellent cover for the central midfield area.
