Ronald Koeman discussion

Remember Davies today being quite rash in the first half? Could, probably should, have picked up a yellow. Some managers might have thrown Schneids on at half time because of it but Koeman kept faith in Tom and it paid off. Think he has more trust in youth than we ever gave him credit for.
Spot on that

Why would I do that?

It is what it is - simply put, a very good result and a full game performance not before time. Koeman has proven nothing. I stand by my view that he's not all that but will see us about where we are now in the table for two seasons before getting off.

Your hypocrisy is showing here too. You claim to be holding judgement until you see two seasons of results, yet your entire judgement of Martinez was based on 72 pts in his 1st season. I'm not a huge Koeman fan, but you're so clearly against him that.you may as well just say it and quit acting like you're impartial in the matter. It is disigenuous.
So far, it seems your problem with Koeman is that he doesnt offer the same smooth talk about the clubs history and stature that Martinez did. This same man also called The Clev the most talented english midfielder of all time. Koeman just made public comments that were brutally honest. Its a matter of style and personality, not of managerial ability; it seems youre conflating the two.
It doesnt matter to me whether or not you like Koeman, but whatever it is please stop this sillyness of insisting you want him to succeed in on breath and in the next listing the reasons you are sure he won't. Its childish and making you look a fool.

I'm not sold on Koeman but it's not agenda driven like some. I think he's made mistakes here and I didn't like the way he blames everyone but himself when things don't go our way but yesterday he played City for mugs and made the guy who's perceived to be the best manager in the world look silly. Full credit to him and all the players yesterday.

With the exception of Spurs we have a very favourable run of games leading up to the Derby and United games in the beginning of April, we should be accumulating a lot of points in this period. Let's see where we are at the end of March because we should of closed the gap on United by then.

....mentioned 'The Project' a few times. 'The Project' it is then. I'm all for a project approach, it requires strategy and plans supported by a Business Case which sets out the case for change and benefits to be realised. It requires strands of which the team will be one as will the new ground, finance, communications etc.

Could be exciting this project.

Tbf, there's still plenty of reservations to be had about Ron, you can't hinge it all on one result. Everyone knows we could well go out against CP and lose, so until it looks like there is an identifiable plan and consistent performances, some people just won't be excited about a great result against City. We're out of both cups too already which will definitely factor into my judgement of his first season. More of yesterday please Ron.

I agree. A 'project' implies there's something to be achieved.

Before Moshiri, we were just coasting. There was no ambition, other than to hope things improved on the pitch and that somehow everything else would follow.

Now, it feels different. There is a broad aim to push the club forward as a whole, with on-field performances being both a driver and a beneficiary of that.

I'm well on board with this 'project.'

I'm glad work threw me on all those project management courses now so I can read posts like this properly.
