Ronald Koeman discussion

Get Jagielka gone before he gives away any more penalties. Plus we won't ever have to watch him admiring referees from afar as they cheat us out of games while our other players defend their team mates in the captain's absence.

Even if Koeman is only here a couple of years, what I like about him is his absolute ruthlessness with the squad

Just hasn't been prepared to accept the mediocrity we have in the squad and wants to shift all of the dead wood

Whether he is ultimately a success here or not, I would wager that we'll be left in much better shape as far as the squad is concerned than when Koeman took over

If he does I'm sure Stekky will deliver the goods

Although I admit it'd be harsh after Robles after his performance against City. Robles would have to have a stinker for me first, which I'm sure is on the horizon because (Whisper it) he isn't all that good

It would be horrible, it'd be no better than the clown restoring Tim Howard as soon he was fit despite Joel performing well. Joel has the shirt for now, there's nothing to separate both keepers ability-wise so we should be playing the in-form keeper.

I agree, I'd stick with Robles for now

As I've previously said, Joel will eventually crash and burn, at which point Stekky will be justifiably restored

Until then though, form should be the underlying reason for selection, and Joel wins that aspect at the current moment

Stekky will be back in within the coming month I would suspect

He said something like "We are trying to do more business, but we only want quality players, we wont get somebody for the sake of it, most players arent available in this window and we might have to wait till the Summer".

This might be seen as an excuse by many detractors, but it's totally understandable

It stands to reason that we are trying to buy good players. Most good players will have an important role at the club they are currently at. It's unlikely those clubs would want to sell these good players in the middle of the season whilst they still have objectives they are playing for.

Ergo, we will be lucky to get much done this month. Schneiderlin we were lucky that he was out of favour at United and Lookman was at a struggling League One club. We've done alright, but summer is when realistically we might be able to get the better work done. Of course, that gives ammo to the Moshiri conspiracy faction of our support, but ok, dems da breaks

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Joel mate. He's not great but he has most definitely improved in the last year or so. Either way we need a new keeper very soon.

He's perfectly fine as back up, as I hope he will still be once the new keeper is signed, but to me Stekky is better and I'm eager to see him restored to the starting line up. I'm an unapologetic fan of The Stekster. I think he's been scapegoated by certain fans for some of our previous woes this season. As far as I see it, he is a decent keeper

That being said, Robles has done well and it'd only be fair to let him keep the job for the meantime until he inevitably blows up

This isn't the same as the Howard situation. Robles may not be an amazing keeper, but he was comfortably a stronger choice than Howard last season. This season he isn't better than the current incumbent #1 in my honest opinion. Again, I think the job should be his whilst he's playing well, but the minute that form drops I'll demand Stekky to be back betwixt the sticks post haste

I can't say I share the same affection for Stek. I mean he's alright, he's nowhere near as bad as Howard because he does make saves, but he is definitely capable of a blunder. For every City away performance there's a Chelsea/Burnley display.

To be honest I have a lot of admiration for Joel, he got dropped for Howard for no good reason while everyone knew Howard was past it. Probably thought he was on his was out the door when we were linked with Heart, got dropped again for Steklenberg earlier in the season then comes back in and has the joint 2nd best keeper stats in the league with Lloris with a fine display against city. Fair play to the lad, done more then enough to be given a shot at the jersey especially given he's still relatively young as keepers go

Robles has more clean sheets in far less games and a better save %. I don't think Robles is the answer but he's miles better than Stek.

Stek is caught out of position way too often, which is why loads of the goals he seems to just stand and watch. He's a decent shot stopper at best but not a Premier League keeper. Robles is a weird one, he doesn't fill me with confidence either, but his stats are surprising, and he's a million times better than Stek.

We'll have to disagree mate

I think Stek is a much better keeper. A lot of the goals he's shipped can be attributed as much to him being left stranded by defenders as it could his own personal mistakes

He makes straight up highlight reel saves sometimes. He's better with the ball at his feet than Joel and distributes the ball better

He's much, MUCH better than Robles in my opinion, even though Joel is hardly crap

Robles will bomb out eventually and the tide will turn regards fan sentiment. I'm just waiting out the inevitable
