Ronald Koeman discussion

I don't think he hates the kids but I also don't think he was particularly brave in playing them. He's eventually given some of them a go because he eventually ran out of other options. Hopefully he gets some confidence from how Davies has played and his current approach continues.

He's just spent 11 million on a kid from Charlton.

He didn't have any at Southampton - he even sacked off a youth game and said they're not good enough. That kid Simms who played well against us weeks ago got away with one good game, heard from him since?

Simple fact is, if you're good enough, it doesn't matter how old you are, you will play.

He was shamed into playing some of our younger players, that is the truth of the matter. He got an almighty kick in the bollocks after his last comment about players from that age group not being ready.

Koeman got away with that tripe at a pony club like S'ton where he ruled the roost while their fans and people behind the scenes looked on meekly; he wont get away with that here. And now he knows it.
Yeah I thought it was interesting that after that comment Unsworth came out and said he thought they were ready and that he had to believe that some of them would get opportunities.

I bet Koeman had a word in his ear. This is a club that relies on it's academy breakthrough on more than one level.

Anyway, job done. He was told what's what and towed the line on the issue. Let's hope he doesn't try and backslide.

He did want him to remain as manager though with us finishing 11th and sitting 13th?
I don't know about the 13th part as he was long since banned for chatting so much guff, but 100% after the 14/15 debacle. Interesting comparison to Koeman and our current form.

Yes mate, the Everton supporters are militant in extreme, no way on earth we would put up with anythign really, how long was Kenwright in charge for, how many of the crowd clapped him, we've put up with two terrible owners - an utter lack of investment, losing out on what would have been the best stadium location in the country in kings dock, ,nearly got moved to kirkby, lost the most talented player we have ever produced as a teenager, have had years and years of absolutely terrible performances in the derby and cup competitions

But yeah the Everton supporters FORCED KOEMAN TO PLAY THE KIDS

Utter ridiculous statement by you mate

Or is the more likely reason for your stance about that the following - You have previously stated numerous times about how Koeman doesn't and won't use our younger players and it would be a disaster for the academy? Now that he is showing that he has absolutely no problem at all playing kids - you have to think up a reason for it - and one that doesnt give him any credit or show that your previous criticsm about him was utterly wrong

Everton now have the most teenage goalscorers in the leagues history, have become the first team to start that many teenagers in one game this season, and have become the first team in the premier leagues history to have two teenage goalscorers in the same game

But the park end made him do it...

Holgate, DCL, Lookman, Davies - in just 22 games in charge in the league, do you think thats an impressive trust in young players mate, or did the park end make him play them all - and if so when will this pressure he feels subside - will the park end demand more of them mate, maybe by season end we will have a complete team of teenagers playign - after all Koeman doesnt decide, the supporters make him choose them

He can't just throw the kids in. They need to be guided progressively.
I agree but I don't think that is what happened. Davies for example hasn't had a kick really until the last few weeks. If he was doing what you've said he would have been getting consistent game time from off the bench and starting in the league cup.

You said it: new stadium. Historically it is a struggle for teams to make a seamless transition to new stadia AND remain where they were competitively.

They are VERY vulnerable in the next 2/3 seasons.
This is a really weird discussion. Vulnerable is not a word I would attach to any of the teams above us. Even after our investment I suspect they will still have more money to spend on we do. In reality we have to put our own house in order to make sure we are good enough to match the top six. All teams at some point will drop points in places, it happens every year but we have got to be good enough to push up into those positions.
We are also recovering from a low base. Our last manager really did damage to the club, players and fans alike that will take time to make up.

What nonsense. You're making stuff up to have a dig at the manager now.

I bet I can find a post where you call him stubborn, now you're suggesting he's been told to play the kids.
