Ronald Koeman discussion

I want to be in the Europa League because I love midweek games and boss European aways, but I can kind of understand why the non-match going fans wouldn't want to be in it.

So dave bagging on SFs of the domestic cups while he doesn't like EL...

Will he play the same team for Stoke ?? I'm all for keeping a winning team but...perhaps a start for Scheiderlin??

After a 4-0 win over City...yeah, no changes. After a hard fought squeaker against Palace...no issue whatsoever changing the team.

One of my least favorite sayings in football is 'you don't change a winning team'. Rubbish...you put out the best team you can for the opponent you are facing.

Why would you want Saitns to win a cup ahead of say United when it would mean we have less chance of qualifying for europe if that happened?

and why would you want any team below us in the pecking order getting a boost of winning a cup for mate?

Utterly strange

Have you found the stats which prove that Saints are playing more academy players than we are mate? Still waiting for that
Because RK's remit from the board is to make Europe this season, and anything that gets in the way of that would be good news for Dave.

It's been good to watch recently but Leicester was truly woeful.
Provided we don't go back to the utter grunge of vs Utd etc then I think it's fair to say he will have won me over by the end of the season.

Let's not make out that he's done an amazing job though all. He's made us solid, definitely, but it's still a far cry from 3 seasons ago. That's the main point @davek is making, and a very reasonable one too.

I don't see where the argument is, we're doing OK now and we appear to be getting better but the aim has to be getting into the mix towards the top end of the table. If one of the top 4 make a balls of it in the next joule of seasons (as they will) we want to be there or there abouts to take advantage.

He's the 1st manager we've had for some time that has a budget of any discription, yes, it's a hard task as those above us are at a head start, but equally, looking at the 6 teams below us, it's hardly pulling up trees being in 7th either.

To be fair, its also a far cry from last season as well.

There just seems to be a bounce in the side these last few weeks. Whether thats the Tom Davies effect, (I doubt), Rom being in beast mode, or just a step change in attitude, application, and fitness, no idea.

But liking this Everton. Mean, snidey, playing some good stuff, while not rolling over.

Top 4? Depends on a few others imploding. Scared of playing anyone? Not even a little bit.
