Ronald Koeman discussion

I've only latterly seen evidence of Koemans ability to adapt. These last 6 weeks he's woken up and smelled the coffee regarding the type of specific talent he has at his disposal and turned away from his usual game of getting the ball forward too quickly at almost every opportunity....a tactic that blighted our season up to that point.

So no, I don't accept your point in Koeman. He has next season to prove consistently what his methodology is here because it's been a bit of a dogs breakfast thus far.

Of course you dont.

The only relevant stats are his managerial ones and they aren't major trophies in major leagues.

Look, stop genuflecting to Koeman. He's lucky be HERE. Not the other way around. He is a second or third tier European manager and he's here at a top tier English club with a tradition of success - the 4th most successful in English football.
I gave you an example of his standing in football. And I agree nobody is bigger than the club if you have ears that work you would of heard him say it as recently as Thursday. And if a player doesn't respect a gaffer of his caliber and standing in the game as far as I'm concerned they can get the fook out of Everton

At least he see's he mistakes and changes them

Unlike the last idiot who insisted on playing the same way week in week out even when it was obvious it wasn't working

It's actually not mate. I find it depressing that this man in the dugout we have right now confirms with almost every public pronouncement my fears about his attitude. He's very thin skinned if he took anything of what Martinez had to say out of context and then go on some pathetic attack against a former Everton manager. It underlines his insecurities as a manager and adds nothing whatsoever to his standing. But it's not just with Martinez as we know. His attitude towards certain players and certain situations that have happened outside the club underline a worrying disrespect and petulance that is in no way becoming of an Everton manager. That sort of gobiness might be ok at other clubs like Newcastle, Liverpool. Chelsea or wherever, but it's not something I want associated with this club.

The last few weeks have been positive for us on the field, so what this new outburst does is deflect from that and potentially much more: it sets him and us up for a fall. Hubris is usually met with a swift kick in the balls at some point. We all know that in this game what goes around comes around.

As pointed our Martinez took swipes at Moyes during his time here.

Koeman is fully within his rights to respond to the comments mate and I can't imagine any top manager in the world not responding to similar comments about their side, especially if they're false.

At first I didn't like his public comments of Ross, but since then it's proven to have really helped him kick on as he's played as well as ever recently - and improved 10 fold in work rate/defensively.

The club needed someone to come in and restart things in terms of the squad and performances, and Koeman has proved to do both effectively.

A largely agree with that. Martinez couldn't adapt. Ironically if he'd done a Moyes after the first season and just made us hard to beat at home then he'd have got a decent PL position, retained his job and the new money would have allowed him to get players in he wanted and get rid of those he couldn't previously.
This is why everyone wanted Martinez gone ffs
