Ronald Koeman discussion

I'm sorry mate but you and @ianefc were birth ramping up the top four talk all last week at least. My point is that it serves no purpose whatsoever, because when a result like this happens there's a sense of deflation. More than that it does us a disservice going forward for next season in that we look like we haven't met a reasonable place this season when we actually have. It presents thatbreasonable place as relative failure.

I'm just saying that when all the top four nonsense is stated it's counter productive.

Anything who thinks we were gonna come top 4 is deluded. Equally anyone ramping up an agenda against the manager and claiming this season is anything other than a marked improvement on last year is also deluded.

Lying. I was ramping up top 6/7 since the beginning of the season. I did say never say never in regards to top 4 last week for how many times? 1,2!? Ramping up means reiterating the same issue almost everyday much like you priase Martinez then that's what you call ramping up dave.

yes they should always be improved if they can be surely that goes without saying. I think Lookman has given us a bit of that and who wouldn't want a playmaker ? it sounds like stating the obvious to me mixed in with a dig at the manager.

but they werent improved really, so when we look a bit flat against a good defence and the support/backup to Ross/Rom are a choice between an unproven kid, Lennon, Kone and Valencia then its pretty normal for that point to come up

It doesn't, actually.

You seem a bit triggered this evening.

We've needed an out and our playmaker since arteta in his pomp, it's not just the last 2 windows

I said it in Martinez first window that it shouldve been a priority. Still waiting. Unfortunately doesnt look like Koeman uses a traditional playmaker so the best hope is a very clever second striker or a wide player with a bit more brains than your usual wide player.

Tough game today, Boro are hard to break down. That said we had a couple of decent chances score and I have to say I'm a little bit disappointed in Lookman as I had him to score and us to win 1-0! It's not a loss and keeps this run going, 3 out of the next 4 games are at home and we really should win all 3. Season's still looking good.

...we have some riches in those central midfield positions but the key now is to be creative. We need to continually carry a threat, we need to work the opposition keeper. Creativity is the next step, a player or two who can make chances and score goals from nothing. Shutting up shop is great, we need to be a continual threat at the other end.
