If any of them are anywhere near the pitch I'll be shocked.

The feller didn't know who Sims was when we played them this season. Does that sound like someone who took a great interest in their youth set up?Oh Dave. You missed the Best of the Best youngsters.
In fact, it was Koeman who brought him into the first team fold on the South Coast.

Do you think richard branson can name his call centre workers by first name mate? The feller didn't know who Sims was when we played them this season. Does that sound like someone who took a great interest in their youth set up?
Everton have played more teenagers this season than any other Prem team.
This ridiculous argument needs to stop, and should've done months ago.
Their best youngsters like Sims, McQueen, Reed and Stephens are all preparing to be part of a cup final mate, that's why they weren't involved in a meaningless U23 match.
So, to answer your question, no.

I know right, not like Holgate is keeping Jags out the team at all, or Davies keeping Barry out of the team either.Haven't you heard though mate, it's because he was forced to. Playing Davies and Holgate was literally forced upon him against his will, he wanted nothing more than to bury them in the under 23s and play Jagielka for the rest of eternity.

Behave lad, as if any of them will get on the pitch. Gordon McQueen is 64, Peter Reid is 60, and Gary Stevens and Bobby Mimms are both 53. Anything to suit your agenda, sake.Their best youngsters like Sims, McQueen, Reed and Stephens are all preparing to be part of a cup final mate, that's why they weren't involved in a meaningless U23 match.

Aye because their youth system is overhyped as proved last night.
Koeman gave their best talent a chance and he suffered an injury. He then skipped town to join a club with one of the best youth systems about at the moment.
Do you think richard branson can name his call centre workers by first name mate?
Just because Koeman doesn't know the name of one of probably around 100 youngsters throughout the southampton academy is pretty meaningless really.
More to the point, he is first team manager at everton, not reserve manager. So why would he need to know them all? He gets told who is ready to step up and he gives them a chance. I mean i can't think of an example off the top of my head of him doing it, he has no track record of randomly promoting a single young player out of his youth set up part of the way through a season simply because they had earned it and looked ready to make the move up.
Do you really think he knows the name of the youth lad that makes the grade in 3 years time at the club as well? Do you think he knows who plays in our under 18 team?
Still promotes youth though
Ok, if we're having a look at U23 players that weren't in the squad, let's wonder how we'd have done with:
Davies, Calvert-Lewin, Holgate, Galloway, Tarashaj, Grant, Browning, Dyson, Jones, Connolly, Evans, Brewster.
Why don't we arrange a rematch where they get Sims, McQueen, Reed and Stephens back, and we can use the above? I'd be fascinated to see how we get on. Any guesses on the scoreline Dave?
have any of those players actually played this season?
The point being made here is that while our youngsters will be talking this week about promotion to the top tier of academy football, some of Southampton's will be preparing to walk out at Wembley. That's a bit of a contradiction to the conclusion drawn by Koeman that there was nothing coming out of their academy just 12 months ago.

Speaking after the game, Koeman said: “It was a pity [to lose Hesketh] because he played well. He felt comfortable in the game.
