It takes 2000 pages to work that out ????Our current manager and how he is getting on two-thirds into his first season?
The players were afraid of Alex Ferguson and when Mourinho is at a club I think there is a distinct fear factor..it hasn't worked out too badly for them.
Roberto Martinez got too close to his players, depended on their better nature and look what happened to him.
I agree mate, end of season is when to decide about him.
There are pros and cons about what he's done so far but, every new manager would have them.
Worst home record in the club's history.
4/10
Guess which one doesn't?Guess which one wins?
He deffo outstrips Martinez by your barometer too. I don't hold seventh as a successful campaign. CL+ or a trophy is what I care about. Koeman won't achieve with this team in this year, but if he did manage to secure a top 4 finish- he'd still have to improve on that to be our most successful PL manager. He'd just be equalling Moyes, and not winning a pot unlike Big Joe.He defo outstrips Koeman, I'll give you that.
Remember when we used to take the piss about Moyes' 7th place trophy? Now it's feted when Koe-moan gets it.
What if he got top 5 for one season, performed terribly for two then takes £10mill+? Asking for a friendHe gets top five next season or he slings his hook. £6m per year to do what Moyes did? Pfffft.
It's all about standards: we reached a standard of play 4 seasons ago that outstripped anything we'd seen since the glory days of the 80s. And it was a standard that gave us results, so the two go hand in hand. The Moyes 4th spot year was a freak when 61 points secured it. In that season we scored just 48 times and conceded 49...and that got a CL spot! Incredible piece of good fortune we had, never to be repeated. He deffo outstrips Martinez by your barometer too. It's all about maintaining a standard and improving on it. We reached a standard 4 years ago and immediately lost it the next season. Noticable you don't consider that a 'freak'. We have improved this season to, what looks like a 6th or 7th place finish. That needs to be maintained and improved upon. It's all about standards: we reached a standard of play 4 seasons ago that outstripped anything we'd seen since the glory days of the 80s.
