Ronald Koeman discussion

Did we bottle the game though or were the second best team in the league just better than us on the day? We made mistakes but would another team have took advantage so much of them? I mean whow many team's strikers pick the ball up and shoot from outside the box the same way Kane did to catch Robles out?

I believe that sometimes in football we aren't the best team ever and if we lose a game then it is simply because the other team was better than us. If it was sunderland we lost against then i can understand dwelling on it but no shame in losing to spurs and certainly nothing but lessons to take away from the result
yes, I acknowledge that a loss isn't necessarily 'a bottle', but re the Spurs game specifically, I sensed a timidity in our mentality which I hadn't detected in our previous very recent (i.e.couple of months) playing performance. Our set up was defensive, and that's ok if the mentality is still to attack on the break, but I just feel we were lacking in the second part of that strategy.

you are probably right in that way of thinking and i am led to believe that this is meant to be the start of something great for the club. So taking one bad game and one bad result out and over analysing it is fine to do but it creates a negative mentality for us fans when in reality the game was always going to be difficult and wind up essentially with us losing. that is not a pessamistic view, that is on the basis that one team will be finishing top 4 this season with a great group of players and the other the start of a rebuilding process that is not even 12 months old yet.

I just think it is a waste of time to dwell on these sorts of games, we all want to win every game sure but when it doesn't happen i would be more focused on the reaction rather than the result. the reaction this time was a 3-0 win on saturday, perfect.

It's not just Lukaku going but the potential unsettling effect on a good run of form of him announcing he will be going.

Let's hope that RonKoe can hold things together.

Just when you think things are going well - Bloody Everton!

Mate things are going well and will be even better soon. Rom was always gonna be goner.

Hope you're right mate. What would be even more Everton now is that Barcelona come in got Koeman and he goes too!

This is why I want champions league rather than FA Cup or Europa league. It's the ONLY thing that counts as "big league" and attracts or keeps the top players. I don't even want Europa league if it lessens our chances of reaching a Champions League place in any way

I am really happy with the progress since the turn of the year but the approach to that Spurs game was very disappointing. To play a third DM in Barry was a very negative move and unnecessary considering how well Morgs and Gueye had played the week before. It invited pressure and left Rom isolated so the ball just kept on coming back. I am interested to see what line-up he plays for the derby match

Ron has dealt with far bigger and better players throughout his football career than Rom.
