Ronald Koeman discussion

I'll give him the benefit of doubt until he gets the squad he wants (and we actually have a "BIG" transfer window), but he has "bottled it" in at least 3 big games this season, and that has left a scar.

I enjoyed the win , but did not enjoy the wrong line up, bad tactics in the Anfield Derby that's my point!
v the lesser teams you may get time to adjust a to 4 team not much chance if you get it wrong, from the start!
We are a work in progress and going in the right direction. Better squad next year we will continue to get better.
Games we have lost are gone for this year

35 goals scored at home last season, sounds great, until you see we also let 30 slip in and only won 6 games, just shows how clueless or uninterested el fraudio was in defending

Yes, also remember being sick of the away end exploding every game as we lost to some pretty average sides, Stoke anyone? But maybe I'm wrong and a certain poster will recall everything was rosy in the Goodison garden.

Just waiting to be told that that stat is nonsense, they're the wrong type of youth players, something about Southampton, 72 points, Koeman doesn't play youth, forced into it by injuries, 72 points etc...

“If I’m not happy then I don’t listen to the name - he’s a player in the team and that’s how I work with everyone.”

Koeman on Barkley. This is how a big name manager operates rather than telling him he can be the best English player of all time and is playing alongside the best free transfer of all time.
Absolutely right. No use in massaging someone's ego when they need pushing.

Equally no point in being overly critical when someone needs an arm around them. Man management eh?

It took tom Davies

And Schneiderlin

Imagine if they'd played from August.

Ronald Koeman for me is a manager who demands and doesn't appear to have any favourites.

He's shown he's perfectly prepared to rest/drop players who show indifferent form, and he's shown he's prepared to be (constructively) critical when he feels it necessary to remind players not to think they can rest on their laurels or get carried away with media or even crowd hype.

He played at the very highest level and rightly, believes he's been entrusted to take this club to those same heady heights... and given the resources, I am of the opinion that he will do.
