Ronald Koeman discussion

Today's topic is:

Why not Kenny and how much is he pithed off with Robles (and all his clean sheets when he plays properly)?

1-0 at a poor Palace (7/10)
1-1 at Stoke (5/10)
0-0 Boro (3/10)
0-0 West Ham (2/10)
0-1 Swansea (1/10)
(ok, also 1 point from 3 games at Liverpool, Spurs and United but we'll let that drift for a while)

Progressively worse.. game by game. I'll mark your card for the Everton Handicap..

Home form - we'll lose 3-4 against the better sides - and win 10-11 draw 4-5 of the rest

That's 11-5-3

Away form - we'll get 2 draws from the 6 tough games.. We'll win 5 draw 6 and lose 2 of the rest

That's 5-8-6

And that's 16-13-9 or 61 points.. You can bet your last dollar that it's been this way for nearly all of the last 15 seasons.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH.. even allowing for running out of fit players.. Koeman has improved us - though that wasn't asking for much after the last two seasons.. but, let's be honest, until he shifts the wage collectors, the Mirallases and Kones etc we'll never be any good.

His season is finished really when he banged in his 24th goal

Shame no one else in the team are near his level.
Correct. But woeful management and signings are going to make it difficult to attract players to a team on the back of back-to-back bottom half finishes.

It's a process and it's been undeniable progress.

True. But I think Koeman does have to brunt some of the blame.

This summer (even earlier with Europa League starting early) is massive for him as there's a worry he could be back to square one.

Ironically now we've improved a bit now we've got Barkley and Lukaku thinking they are far too good. They were here last year and did FA. I hate modern football sometimes.

Actually think we're gonna find it far harder to attract this year with them 2 off. My faith in this club to push on is low.

Progress in drips and drabs.
This squad has done all it can do.
Huge reshape needed, needs to be backed in the summer to bring in his own squad.
I'll reserve judgement til next season but overall it's another boring [Poor language removed]-show from Everton.

I think Swansea wanted and needed the win more than us and it showed. It's been a season of progress but i think we got another reminder of the vast changes that need to be made to the squad.Im not really going to slate Koeman.I think he's done a decent job overall with what he as inherited.Poor goalkeers poor central defensive spine and only 1 decent striker. The time to judge Koeman is when he has his own squad put together.Anyway let's give some of the u23's a run out for the remaining games and see how they go.A busy summer ahead and the board need to make a statement that this really is a new era at Everton with some big signings. No more waiting until deadline day.No more doing things on the cheap.Back up your words with actions this summer. That is my challenge to the board.

Team looked horribly imbalanced today. Needs a good squad cull. Could pretty much replace our back 5 (holgate excluded) and the 2 "wingers" today. Much work to be done, but not gonna slate the man after a much improved season.

is koeman drunk,we were in control of the game at the start, what was the difference and he says they scored 1 goal we didnt, does he know 7th is the least we should be attempting, not be as though hes doing us a favour by been there, last few seasons apart top,7th or higher is were we have been, didnt take cups seriously enough either for me,

He could, but, in all fairness anything other than top four may not have been enough to convince some of our stars to stay and to expect Koeman to drag us from a laughable 11th to 4th is a big ask.

I'm not arsed if Barkley goes, I'll be gutted if Lukaku does, but even now he's spent 50% of his Everton career in the bottom half.

That can't happen, but embarrassingly it did.
