In his first season Koeman has restored Everton to our default pre Martinez 7th place setting. The challenge for Koeman next season is to finally win us an elusive trophy.Break into the top four and finally get a win at places like Anfield. Can he do for us what Moyes and Martinez couldn't and that's get Everton back in the winners enclosure?

Le Tis has reiterated his claim that RK took a sideways (and possibly backward) step in coming to us. He bases it on the fact that he finished 6th with Southampton last season. The fact that we are so far ahead of Southampton seems to have escaped him and his claim smacks more of fan loyalty than common sense.

What is happening at our club, and what will continue to happen, is so obviously a better outlook than Southampton's. With thier feeder-club mentality they will always yo-yo around mid-table until their academy goes through a dry spell and they yo-yo around the bottom six and finally get relegated. I like Southampton and wish them no I'll, but they and us are headed in different directions.

I still feel guilty for swaying between the 'all hail lord RonKoe' school of thought, that he took an absolute car crash of a squad with wretched quality and no spirit and finished close to the top 6 in his first season. And the 'Dutch Moyes' school where he's seemed more bothered about Barca than Everton, hasn't produced an away performance in 2017, crapped out of both derbies and threw away the cups.

Martinez has destroyed any relative scale of rating a season that used to apply. If Moyes had done this season some people would be calling for him to go, no wins at top grounds, rubbish in cups, lost both derbies, and bouts of turgid football only really playing well when the pressure was off. In comparison to bottom half finishes, the worst home record in our history and Cleverley and Kone on the flanks though, then the season looks like Koeman's worked wonders.

Genuinely torn on this one. Guess next season will reveal whether this was a steadying of the ship or as good as it gets.

"When we started we took our time to analyse the team and to do things differently because last season was not a good season,"

"Overall it's really positive. We had a great home record this season and we scored a lot of goals. In all aspects of football, the team has improved.

"Everybody likes to play in Europe. The best place to play in Europe is in the Champions League, but if you don't qualify for the Champions League then the Europa League can be interesting for the club, and that's what we want.

"The next step is to be closer to the teams above us in the table and that's sometimes difficult. Maybe it's now five, six or seven points, but we need to make the next step and the next step is Champions League."

"We will see what happens with Ross," he said. "We will see what happens with Romelu, but Everton is not about two players. Everton is about much more than that. We will sign new players and next season we will have a really strong team."

He's been talking today how the Europa isn't good enough for a team like Arsenal.
Sometimes this guy really winds me up

Nothing has happened here yet. We could be on the verge of losing our 2 Crown Jewels so it's not hard to see why people might think that
