Ronald Koeman discussion

It was by no means a great season as some continue to say. It was OK. Better than the last two.

Hopefully we push on. This summer is a huge moment in time for the club.

Haven't seen too many people saying it was great. It achieved exactly what it absolutely needed to. No more, no less.

It hurts my head how important the next 12 months are.

2 posters on the previous page referred to the job Koeman did as great. I don't agree.

I think in the context of what Koeman inherited, he did a great job at getting Everton back up and running again to the extent that we did finish above the sides we should be finishing above this season.Best home record in 25 years on the back of the worst home record in our modern history last season and one of the best defensive records in the league. In comparison to the key stones cop like defending that was the hallmark of the Martinez era!He has done a great job at undoing the damage of the Martinez era but as i already said, the real work for him starts now.

Cos you take 7th for granted, the last clown showed its not as easy as people think.

Ronnys done a great job so far, its on him to build on the solid base hes laid.

He was prepared to spend £27M or so on Bolasie, he says the board will back him now, who will he sign? Are the board really gonna back him or are they just interested in building a new stadium? time will tell.

I rate Bolasie but I don't think Koeman would have sanctioned spending that money unless he thought he could spend more. Let's see what the board can muster up for Koeman.

7th is a minimum expectation. Martinez failed to do so and was sacked for it.

Ron has done decent. He's a firm 'meets expectations' on his season end performance review.

In 15-20 years, nobody will recall Martinez fondly, not even Dave, he will forever be a clown brought up whenever we mention crap managers we had, but maybe, just maybe, in 15-20 years people will look back at Ronnys time and say, "Yeah, thats where it all started.................."

Next season, Koeman better have us knocking on the CL door. The season after we had kick it in, because I don't think he's going stick around for a forth season.

Soon.

It's something we all would hope for.

I guess RK has done ok. He gets a pass mark from me. 7th position is the best we could have really hoped for especially as we have only
decent attacker. Thank God that Lukaku plays every game and never gets injured. Imagine Kone at no.9 for three or four games!

The scale of the upgrade that required is massive and unlikely to be achieved in just one summer. Spurs, City, LFC, AFC, all play superior football
and have star players. Lukaku apart we have nobody. Morgan and Gana are on the edge, maybe. Its not an exaggeration to say that we have to buy 6 top players and we have to flog a bunch of players. Its going to a tall order to sort it all out over this summer.
