Ronald Koeman discussion

We were very poor. Lucky to get the goal, luckier for them to have a man sent off and still didn't even look like we'd get anything out of the game.
Either:
a) You didn't watch the game
b) You didn't understand the game plan

We did exactly what teams who are up against it do. Executed brilliantly for the vast majority of the game.
If Holgate didn't have a brain fart we would have had a fantastic smash and grab.

How many teams win at City?

Were we up against it though? They had 10 men, not us.

I can't get on board with the 'if' in this situation. That works when you are in control, the game is going how you want it to go and then something inexplicable happens which costs you. I'd say something like when we were 2-0 up at Chelsea a couple of years ago and controlling the game, and suddenly Howard and Jagielka make a complete hash of mopping up a booted clearance and the game changes, or Spurs away last year when we never looked like scoring until their defender slipped and let Lukaku in to get us back in to the game. Those sort of things can go down as 'if that hadn't happened it would have been fine'. Last night though, they were causing problems. You could say 'if' Silva had scored instead of hitting the post, or Jagielka hadn't somehow slid 50 yards to tackle Aguero, or Baines hadn't made a great tackle on Walker or Jagielka hadn't been on the line to clear then we'd have been comprehensively hammered. Equally nonsensical.

in all the complaining about Dave, this sort of stuff from his assorted obsessed fans gets missed. dismissing some football chat as cryarsing and exaggerating others opinions to try and bolster your own point.

Some would say that is Wumming. id just call it silly
Save the faux moral high ground love. You can call it what you like, and I'll do the same ta.

There's been plenty of cry arsing about it since the final whistle, notably the person you mentioned by name.

I note you didn't actually pass comment on the football content of my post btw. Wumming you say......ok love xxx

Burnley conceded against 10 men and the conceded again with 9 men on the pitch. Numerical advantage should give you hope that you can win, but it's not necessarily a certainty against the top teams away from home. The biggest disappointment for me is we dropped 2 points and I fear the worst playing Chelsea away so soon after split away.
I think Chelsea will be a game too far tbh. 3 big games in 6 days, with a trip to Croatia as one of them will see us run out of steam towards the end of that game. I can't see how physically we'll be able to cope this early in the season.

Yes, they've got better, quicker and more punishing players.

Well, 1-1 is still a good result away at City, wouldn't you say?
Better, quicker, more punishing and less players, so it should have evened itself out somewhat in my opinion. A tough 45 minutes of course, but I wouldn't say we should be up against it.

I would say 1-1 is a decent result yes, and have done a few times this morning. Not a really good result though, which is a shame because I'm not sure we'll get many better chances to get one of those this season.

When we gel and get a raucus number 9 we'll be smashing teams off the park. No doubt.

"They had 10 men though, we should have gone at them and DOMINATED THE GAME."

We "go at" City in that second half, regardless of how many they have on the pitch, we lose. Simple as that. The moves we made in the second 45 gave us a chance to get up the field - and we certainly were up the field way more than we were there last season, or the season before - but we couldn't create a second opening to score.

Defensively, I believe we are quickly becoming one of the best teams in the league. That showed today, all of the back five were excellent, as were Schneiderlin, Gueye and Pickford. Half a mistake from Holgate was all it was, and it was punished.

In no universe was that a bad result. In no universe was that a bad performance. In no universe has Koeman made a gigantic mess of it or have the players bottled it or rubbish like that. Away at the best team in the league, our gameplan beat theirs but an abundance of class and a hint of luck made it a draw.

Pull your bonces in.

You obviously havnt lived in Dave's universe have you

I've already posted my fair share on the footy cheers. You hadn't covered anything new.

Dismissing of others points as cry-arsing and bedwetting is no different than the worst of Dave's ignoring others points and carrying on blindly. There's been plenty of discussion of the tactics and game, my point on your post is you decided to wum the people with a different opinion than you rather than just talking footy.

If you offered me a point before the match I would take it happily.

Thing is not everything always go in our way. Holgate's individual error costed us two points. Citch have got the best players and spent billions so getting a draw at their place is good enough for me. The old Everton would lose the match 3-1.

Pipe down you sanctimonious bore

Guardiola has an embarrassment of riches at his disposal, even with our significant outlay this summer you could argue only Keane and Pickford would get anywhere near city's team. I actually thought his change of tactics when down to 10 men made them a better team. Unfortunately we have a number of new players trying to gel as a team and the likes of bolasie and Sandro who could have given us more options; injured. City will win the league and very few teams in the league, will get anything from there.
