just admit it C

he likes us to kick the ball towards the sun

he will continue to do so until Rhino changes the locks at Goodison and Jim White tweets him "On yer bike Golf Lundgren"

unfortunately I probably have to wait two seasons for this outcome

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOFF

Koeman OUT, AVB IN

I actually meant that koeman is writing it off rather than us as fans. Our performances have not been what you would expect of a team with ambitions of competing at the top table.

But if you're talking about fans, just look at hundreds of comments in here about how it's completely understandable that we never left our own half against 10 Man City because they've got good players. Theres definitely an element of writing games off from many blues.

Don't necessarily think he's writing games off like. As I say, understandable today but it was different from Monday. But ok, we can point back to last season too and pick and choose the away games at the 'big teams' and it's the same mixed bag of bad performances like today and games like Monday.

You can call it excuses but I just look at it realistically. They've got far better players than us so we struggle to compete. I just don't see how we begin to get results consistently away from home against the top 6 without a transformation in the players we have in the team.

It would take one hell of a manager to change it or a ridiculous bank balance.
I'm very much a realist. I don't expect us to go away to Chelsea and teach them a footballing lesson. I don't even expect us to get a positive result. I don't expect us to get completely outclassed either though, and we did today. The gap between our players and those of ruzomberok should be much bigger than between us and Chelsea, so how come they can come over and give a good account of themselves but we just roll over and have our tummy tickled?

The way football goes isn't it? We got a decent result against City but on another night that set of players could have easily ripped us apart 3-0.

We can still compete, the fact our first attempt at goal came in the 86 minute says all you need to know. If it's all about money as you've put it, we may as well settle for 7th - 10th now.

It's easy to say for me to say look at what Leicester done, but know doubt 'that was a one off, won't happen again' - fair enough but the point still stands.

We've always been a team who are reactive, rather then set-up with any sort of game plan away from home. Again simple example this season would be Burnley - I imagine that'll be brushed off because they had 10 men (least we forget we played City with 10 men) and Chelsea were 'caught cold' at the start of the season.

There are so so many examples of teams who take points from this mystical 'top 6', but we'll brush them all under the carpet because it doesn't fit the lets-be-respectful-small-time-mentality we seem to have. Then again don't let that get in the way of us needing a blank cheque to compete in this league...

That's my point though. The 2nd half against city was just as poor as today but some people lauded it because we held on for a point.

City and Chelsea are better than us, I know that. They shouldn't be so much better that we can't even get within 30 yards of their goal though and that's what we're seeing at the moment. It's not what I expect from an Everton team which has been expensively assembled and is almost exclusively players of the managers choosing.

He is saying the right things and he can see where the problem is but why are the players not following his instructions.

Maybe we'll get lucky and win a couple of games away from home against the top 6 this year. Most of the time it is down to 'luck' rather than any fantastic tactics presented by the managers. If it wasn't then these managers would be working at a much higher level.

It's been something like 15 years, we've had three managers and we've probably won one game away against a top side (United under Moyes) in that time. It's an absolutely awful record I agree but I really doubt other teams are much better.

yup, also our away mentality vs top teams for the last 10 years or more has been gash. its not just that they have more money and better players as I've seen teams worse than Everton over the years win at chelsea and the pit
