Ronald Koeman discussion

Please say this didn't really happen
That's the thing with all the money they all earn, it's just as good to be sacked as being successful, think of what De Boer has earned in the past 8 months. I wanted to see something that shows he's hurt and wont except it instead of making wise cracks to the media.

He made a joke about Crystal Palaces board sacking De Boer, then said if the Everton board want to change manager he will ask for the compensation that Martinez got and laughed.

Whichever way you look at that comment, you can only draw the conclusion that it's a threat to the board, to think long and hard if they're thinking of booting him.

He didn't say it but I bet he is thinking it.

I mean.....put yourself in Koeman's position.

Six million quid a year.....for three years.

The conversation Moshiri had with Koeman and his agent must have been akin to the legendary discussions Peter Ridsdale had with Seth Johnson and his agent at Leeds round about turn of t' century.

But Mr. Koeman.

Gets out of bed this morning and looks in the mirror.

Says to himself......."another humiliation last night.....a visit to Old Trafford on Sunday....:(....."

then he thinks......"well, what is the absolute worst thing that can happen to me if I start screwing up the easy matches"?

And the answer comes in a flash........."I get to walk away with about £10 million after that mug fires me...:pint2:.."

And that's the simple truth of it in the fairy tale, Monopoly money world of pro soccer.

Football management at this level is the best job in the world.....it is the only job I can think of where the rewards for failure are higher than the rewards for success

What a time for Ronald Koeman to be alive

stuff going on you reckon? i was surprised he admitted he hadnt prepared the team well enough yesterday

It always surprises me the manager gets all the blame. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I think the players should be ashamed of themselves. If I get paid what they do man I would be working my ass off every game. What I saw yesterday was pathetic. Looked like they didn't care. Hard to blame a manager for the attitude of players. It doesn't matter if you like your manager or not, if you get that kind of money you give 100% effort every game. If not, pretty disrespectful to the Everton fans who pay good money to come and see you play.
