Ronald Koeman discussion

The collapse of Martinez didn't happen overnight. We'd been shocking for the best part of two seasons under El Fraudo. Koemans situation and Martinez is nothing alike apart from the fact that they're both crap.
Yeah but he was never getting sacked by BK mate - remember "What a manager! "
A defeat by manure may not be the end of the world but if the performance is similar and then we don't beat Sunderland it's gunna get interesting.,
To be honest - if he gets the boot, it'll be a sign that there is other investment available in the near future. From North London / Russia maybe.

Plus we lost to Liverpool twice. Lost at Burnley, Swansea, Watford, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Southampton , some of the worst performances I've seen as an Everton fan. Failed to have 1 shot on goal against West Ham away, when they were conceding goals for fun last season. As I said at end of last season it was an OK season not a good one. We've lost 3 or the 4 talented young players we had under Martinez, with Barkley likely to leave pretty soon, which doesn't fill me with confidence. Ticket prices have gone up, more season tickets sold than ever, and huge amounts of money spent on players to play in the same position and we're still no closer to the top 4.

Great post.

Erm....they're all Koeman's signings. Main targets he was happy with, even praising the board after they signed. Also saying this is why he left Southampton.

Now...to pin the whole failure on the board for not signing 1 player, after you've signed 7 players for £150million and not getting a tune out of them doesn't wash with me.

It's why Koeman gets paid £7mill a year.

I disagree, Koeman identified players we needed and the board let him down on the single most important one
He stated within the last week of the window 1-2 more players were expected, the board let him down and you can see it when you watch us play
we are toothless in attack. The striker should have been a priority the board failed big time

If their is fight, aggression, passion (even if skill is lacking) Evertonians will support? But with most of this lot (youngsters except)they are taking their gross salaries and !!! would be cut off off in my prime if I said what I really thought? Also, went on a £150 hospitality package for their 2nd round home Euro tie and the food was crap. The guy I shared a table with said the bread roll was the best?

Martinez earned his 2nd season after the 1st which should've seen us get Champions League. He stayed in a job for the 3rd because he was getting close to some silverware (2 semi finals)

Neither of these look to be anywhere near Koeman's grasp.
I don't want to turn this into a debate over Martinez mate as he has his own thread for that but he didn't earn squat in that first season. It was a slight improvement of the previous season under Moyes which is exactly what Koeman did last season when he improved us from the previous season.

He stayed in the job for the third year because of Kenwright who would defend anything Martinez did. He never got us close to silverware, don't give me the Semi final line. We aren't Birmingham city and a semi final isn't an achevment. He should of been gone after the second season.

But he didn't he got a third and far more time then he derserved whereas the knives have been out for Koeman since day one.

I'll bealieve it when I see it mate. I have little to no faith in the people running our club and I have grave doubts that they'd ever act so decisively as to sack someone so early in the season regardless of how much he may derserve it.

If the striker was THAT important we'd have got one in straight away imo

Ill be surprised if Koeman gets us anywhere near a semi final.
