I expected him to include some reference to Southampton and his time there, can't say I'm particularly bothered either way though might have been if we were on the reverse of this.

Ultimately though he can't win with them in a situation like this - say nothing and be vilified, express words of thanks and its written off as too little, too late, and not genuine.
