that isnt a list to be proud of lol

well half of it anyway.

Same could be said about us mate. For all the talk of our academy being one of the best in the country The last international we've produced is Rooney. Did Rodwell get a cap? I think he did but I wouldn't class him as an international class player.

Heard of Ross Barkley?

haha you won't mate.

Koeman is the sensible choice out of everyone. I personally suggested him weeks ago as well and until emery looked bang on, my vote for 2 months in the polls was always koeman.

Solid team, good recruitment, scores goals, balance and highly respected name, with league experience. Everything you could possibly want in our situation without taking a gamble on an unknown.
Exactly my thinking.

Best manager and safest option around that was genuinely achievable in my opinion.

But I know nothing abar football and I'm always wrong so take it with a pinch.

Let the dewigertonisation of EFC commence!
RK has a big job on his hands to reverse our previous manager's influence; but I am confident he is up to the task.

Haha wow, just wow.
You cold start to believe some of the things, but the way it's always turned to look as a belittling swipe at us, means for sure, it's that persons bitter and crybaby own views.

Imagine going to that much effort of digging and trawling info and then actually putting it into words. One of the saddest, yet hilarious articles. Mane will be one of the first players out of the door!

I don't really get the part where they [Poor language removed] koeman off for two paragraphs then come back to saying he's tarnished his brilliant reputation etc

Even, if all of that is true then I'm quite glad, our players deserve a rocket up their arse for what they did last season.

He just gave saints fans their best ever league season ... Maybe they should forget about "the Southampton ways" which has broght them pretty much no success in their history.

To be fair he was groomed to be the next Holland or Arsenal manager. I can see were the guy is coming from in terms of attitude, he knows he has a bigger job coming if he maintains the status quo such as top 8 finish for the saints - Europe being the bonus.
Change the name of Ronald to david in that story and certain areas ring true, by which I mean Moyes going to United as an example.

Baines and joey Barton were both originally Everton academy as well, as was that German defender whose name escapes me.

Made up about this news today, one thing, anyone think we might of handed him a longer contract then 3 years? Was a bit suprised about that after we gave Martinez a five year one?

Wonder if there will be an option already in place to make it longer if his first season is a success.
If he relegates us this season and was on a 5 year contract it'd cost us about 30m to sack him! 3 years is a sensible length.

It feels a little weird to not even have one photo of him on the site after having signed the contract. Nothing whatsoever aside from the announcement. Strange.
