Getting Unsworth in would be the worst thing we could do, not just in the sort term but the long term as well, he is building for the future, we dont want to ruin that. Besides could he do the job?

Should we go for Steve Gatting (Arsenal) or Simon Davies (Man City) ?

Lets imagine he was at for example another mid table Premier League side, and last season while manager of that clubs U23s he had a great season would we want him? Not a chance
Right now there really isnt a worse candidate then Unsworth, no matter how much of a blue he is
I disagree mate

I still daydream occasionally about that eye of the needle pass from Del through two West Ham (I think) players to set up Rom.

Can't be having any of that though, best freeze him out of the team and ship him out on loan to Milan just after our other main wide player gets a year-long injury. Thanks Ron.

Edit: here it is. Ahhhh.

That pass is so good that Gerry should charge people to watch it. I do miss the wee lad.

Including the season when we posted the worst home record in our ENTIRE history? As a lifelong ST holder I can tell you that season will take some beating, even at this point Koeman isn't even close to the level of despair and anger I had then.
This absolutely.....I sat through Smith and Walker's tenures and they were marginally better than the clown martinez

I don't think he is the worst candidate but I agree in the long term it would be damaging to both us and Unsworth. Could you just imagine the pressure he would be under if he was manager under our current run of form? He would be booted out by now and that would be his one and only crack at a big club. He just hasn't got the gravitas (+experience) to give confidence of turning around such a situation.

I firmly believe that he needs to go earn his crust somewhere else first as a manager before he can be ruled as a candidate here.

No we're not, we'd just get someone else in. In my opinion this group of players should be nowhere near relegation if coached properly. Unsworth will coach them properly.
But a club with our purported ambitions should not just be taking a punt on an unproven manager. We should be taking our time and appointing someone who has already proven they can do the job. If we have to dismiss Koeman, why risk wasting more precious time on a manager we are not confident in? That is not the action I would expect of a professional, well run club.

I'm in favour of appointing him until the end of season. That gives us time to evaluate Unsworth in the role and also to weigh up other options.
