Love it, Krudders ;)

It reads like sommat Scpio Africanus would have done when sending the Legions into battle against Hannibal's barbarians at the Battle of Zama.

Hannibal arranged his infantry in three phalangial lines designed to overlap the Roman lines. His strategy, so oft reliant upon subtle stratagems, was simple: a massive forward attack by the war elephants would create gaps in the Roman lines, which would be exploited by the infantry, supported by the cavalry.

Meeting of Hannibal and Scipio at Zama.

Rather than arranging his forces in the traditional manipular lines, which put the hastati, principes, and triarii in succeeding lines parallel to the enemy's line, Scipio instead put the maniples in lines perpendicular to the enemy, a stratagem designed to counter the war elephants. When the Carthaginian elephants charged, they found well laid traps before the Roman position and were greeted by Roman trumpeters, which drove many back out of confusion and fear.

;)

Like taking a trumpet to a gunfight...

Where have I mentioned Home records zatmania. Will you be secretly celebrating if we lose, a little jig and a coke

Didn't say you had dear...

To be honest right now I'm feeling 'not bothered' but on the day lets see if that changes...late nights to watch this tosh and a useless manager.

I feel sorry for those match goers who also attend away games...

I used to love away games myself...id be one of those going when we were rubbish...

Obviously I disagree, last season showed enough progress for me to be guardedly optimistic for this season. Season ticket sales suggest a lot of other people did too. It's all opinion.

Can you define the progress though? That's what I struggle with since he was appointed...granted I hated him anyway but seen nothing to impress me at all.

For me we could actually defend, at home we expected to win again, he even got a tune out of the snide coward Barkley. It was good considering the shambles of a team he inherited. Most of the deadwood was shifted too. It's all subjective anyway , if you dislike him you are never going to be convinced until he achieves something concrete.

;)

The Romans also had wild boars and pigs, covered them in tar and set them on fire in order to cause panic amongst the elephants mate, needless to say it didn't particularly work very well lol (the pigs didn't really understand they where supposed to charge towards the elephants and just ran around squealing and making the soldiers feel like bacon sandwiches)

Admittedly it ain't wild boars and pigs, but we could do the same with a load of cats and dogs and lob em in the Kop. Now that would be a sight to see. Just close your eyes and picture it. :)

weve gone backwards

koeman / walsh / the board have assembled a squad that can not play together.
We may have gone backwards but remember that these are the folks who took us forwards just last year. Sad that some on here are only willing to show support or commitment to a manager when things are going good, does not speak well of our fanbase imo.

I'm a season ticket holder who goes home and most aways. I support the team.

But what I'm seeing this season doesn't even resemble football.

it needs changing and quick, because as it is, we are going down.

that isn't just me bedwetting, the form table shows exactly what we are like, and I don't think this team, set up as it is, is capable of beating any other premier league team.
