Ronald Koeman discussion

The more I think about it, the less reason I can see for keeping Koeman on.

I think one thing that both pro and anti Ronald posters agree on is he has no intention, and never had any intention, of staying beyond the three years of his contract.

And he is already going on halfway through that three years.

Now, although I wouldn’t put it past this board, it would be madness to let a manager whom has not fulfilled expectations in the first two years of his tenure and whom you don’t even want to offer a new extended deal to, run loose with a transfer budget the summer before he is leaving.

In fact, it would be daft letting him spend big in January for pretty much the same reason.

There is a growing body of opinion round these parts, one ol’ Khal subscribes to, that Koeman will be off at the end of this season anyway, striking a “mutual consent” deal with Moshiri.

(unless the wheels really come off over the next two months of course and he is fired quicker)

This is strange territory for us.....we are struggling and don’t have a manager whom is desperately trying to save his job.

Sad days indeed.

RK has two weeks to think about the team but he faces the same, old problems. Too many slow no.10's and too many players out of form.

From the first game against Stoke till today, a lot of us saw that playing 3 or 4 no.10's was not going to work. He persisted despite the evidence. He admittedly tried to change things by playing two up front against Burnley but only took half the medicine by not playing a winger and continuing to play with two out-of- form defensive midfielders who can only pass backwards.

Now against Brighton away he has to come away with at least a point. What does he do? He has no idea..But here's what he knows.: the team is short on confidence, has no pattern of play, has defensive lapses, midfield is not working, attack does not score goals, new stars are not delivering, no wingers, no leaders..Solution: Pack midfield, deep-lying defense, Dominic on his todd, and hope for a dodgy penalty.

Looking to Koemans successor i wouldn't mind Sean Dyche.Of course coming to us would be his biggest challenge yet.We are with all due respects a much bigger club than Burnley. But i think someone like Dyche would help us find our feet again.Of course it's not the most glamorous option but our current position at the moment isn't that glamorous.Koeman has spent all this money in the summer yet we are closer to the relegation zone than the top four.Make no mistake about it.We have serious problems.

I agree to an extent mate, he's trying to fix something broken and unplanned.

But the club are a thundering disgrace going into the season without a centre forward. Any manager in the world would find it hard to win a game without a forward. So for me any criticism isn't at his doorstep.

Of all the idiotic things I've seen Everton do, this is probably the most idiotic.
So why didn't he buy one
Surely it was a priority ahead of Sigurdson, as we are not short of no 10's. Once Lukaku left it should of been our first signing, plenty of decent forwards available
So the board thing doesn't wash with me....sorry

For me we could actually defend, at home we expected to win again, he even got a tune out of the snide coward Barkley. It was good considering the shambles of a team he inherited. Most of the deadwood was shifted too. It's all subjective anyway , if you dislike him you are never going to be convinced until he achieves something concrete.

He went with 2 deep defensive mids + sat the defence deep. We relied on lukaku and barkley the rest of the time.

If Gana hadn't been out we wouldn't have seen Davies...he said in the weeks before davies wasn't ready lol

I think all he did was went more deep and relied on lukakus goals.

Now weve bought players to compliment lukaku when hes gone lol

Id take Big Sam, straight talking, sorts the defence out and played some exciting players at Bolton.

See how he does this season...

I think the way things stand we need a manager that will help ensure survival this season. Big Sam has the credentials for this. Can't believe i'm endorsing this after such high hopes, however, it's time to wake up..... WE ARE (AT PRESENT) RELEGATION FODDER.

If Big Sam was prepared to take it until the end of the season (which I'm sure he would), I wouldn't object.

Just as long as Koeman is gone before the Brighton game.

...I have no response.

One of them always sorts a defence out and gets results...the other is Ronald Koeman.

He should have been replaced. But he's not going to be now. Can't say I'm surprised all the same.

We need wins in our next 2 games so let's hope we get them. Anything less than 2 wins has to be a P45 tho. If the club don't respond then the heat needs turned up.
