Ronald Koeman discussion

There was a point in the first half of tonight's game when Martina moved forward even though his man was going in the opposite direction which opened up that whole side of the pitch. At that point alarm bells should have gone off but they didn't. If one player can take a manager down then it is Koeman's willingness to allow Martina to play when he is clearly not Premier League standard.
Said it in the match thread mate.

There was a moment in the first half schneiderlin got the ball unmarked in his own half, ran about 20 yards straight into trouble, turned round and passed it back to where he started from.

What was the point?

Whatever happens with Koeman this team needs much more investment; which is a painful statement to have to make given our highest summer spend ever. Simply not a good enough team for where we supposedly want to be. The question is now we've lost most of our saleable assets, will Moshiri provide the funds required?

Aye we did

Was nice thinking we were going to go and win the game for 10 minutes though, that made a change
For all our huff and puff, we're just not a threat. To think some said our goals would be spread around...

Stating the obvious, but goals win matches. We're handicapped before we even start.

Very doubtful. The more you think about it the more Villa this situation gets and that's what worries me the most.

If we get rid of Koeman and the next managerial appointment is a shocker we could easily find ourselves in relegation battles in the not too distant future.

The performances have been woeful all season.Let's not kid ourselves. He needs to go now.He goes now and things would look (you would hope) a lot rosier by Christmas. Why would anyone give him till then is beyond me.To me he has lost the players. They are all playing out of position, never in the same lineup/partnerships.This in itself makes them nervy and culpable of mistakes.

If anybody thinks that was a good performance by us tonight forget football and go and watch the world bog snorkelling championships or something. We huffed and puffed our way through that game and Lyon could have picked us off any time they wanted too. If it wasn't for Pickford it could have been 4. My god.
Bit over the top, no? Do you want me to qualify my statement so that a 2 year old can understand? FOR HOW WE HAVE BEEN THIS SEASON, that was a good performance by us tonight.

If anyone thinks that WASN'T a good performance compared to the rest of the year, they ought to take up free diving.

Koeman smiling when asked if the board are under pressure to let him go

He knows he doesn’t care. Either if he gets sacked he gets huge compensation and a new job in months probably. So effectively he would be better of financially being sacked!

We need a transfer window that isn't an absolute [Poor language removed] show

That's all well and good, but can you actually tell me why you think this coach is worth hanging on to given the end goal is for us to win something or at least be pushing for top 4. I honestly don't see, and didn't see, anything in him to make me think he is the manager to do that.
