He's not going, he has the support of the board.
I wonder how many decent managers would actually want this job at the moment if he were to get his marching orders. After the club spent so much money replacing a lot of the deadwood we finally got rid of we now seem to be even further away from resembling a top side.
A new manager would be relying on a lot of out of form players to turn their form around plus hope funds are available for players that we need in positions we're ridiculously short in.
At the moment it's not exactly an enticing position for a fresh manager.
And for hypothetical's sake, if he doesn't rock up at Leicester I don't see why he'd join us. Really don't think we're in a much better position than them both on and off the field. Everyone has money now. Unfortunately we're in the same bracket as them currently and they've got first shot at getting a new man in whilst we dither around as usual with mediocrity.
Moyes never got anything like the credit he deserves for what he did here. He had us punching well above our weight. Sure his negitiveity might of cost us a lot of big games but it was his scouting system and brilliant man management that even allowed us to get to the dance in the first place. Moyes got the club alright, he understood far better then most of our fans exacally were we are.You have to wonder whether Moyes actually 'got' the club much more than we care to admit, and operated within exactly what was on offer.
Well i hope its someone that shows some ambition and isn't just here for the cash only. Not so sure, I do think there is quality in this squad which isn't being utilised. Coupled with the 6 million a year contract we are paying our manager I think there could be a few interested

Erm he did have Sadio Mane, a bloke who's in the shortlist for the Ballon D'or and had still had some good players at his disposal, Fonte and Pelle. In addition, Van Dijk adapted very well very quickly which can't hurt.
Yeah Southampton have always been the team that never remains.
However I don’t think koeman was particularly attacking at saints tbh. His seasons there was based on defensive solidity of fonte/vvd and Schneiderlin/wanyama in front of them. I don’t think they scored many goals
Yes mate I do think he should be given more time. I don't like us sacking managers for starters but I genuinely believe there are mitigating circumstances.I find it hard to argue with what you say there mate.
However, the problem we have is that, whilst these new players are finding their feet and learning "on the go", the teams performance is getting gradually worse (and seeing as we started poorly that is actually a "massive" problem) and our season is in danger of being over by Halloween. Established players are now also losing form/confidence and this is also spreading to the younger players too. The manager has fallen out with some key players and appears to have lost the backing of other players too. Admittedly the effort shown in last nights game was a step forward but no different to the second half against United in the semi final IMO.
The whole scenario is similar to the previous managers last 3 months in charge which is still very fresh in the fans memory. We all believe he was sacked too late which is why, IMO, most of us are calling for Koemans head NOW.
So I don't think the manager is going to get the time he needs for the new players to gel together. Even if he does, by the time the team starts performing we'll be out of all competitions and will probably, at best, finish lower mid table.
Do you think he should be given the time to turn it around?
Big Sam was on the radio the other day and he said he wasn't interested in Leicester but when asked if the Everton job came up he said 'maybe'. I think that shows that it's still held in high regard no matter how little the fanbase seem to think of the club at the minute. I think while Koeman is under so much pressure a few managers will be reluctant to commit to Leicester if they feel they have a chance at the Everton job.
To be honest if a new manager does come in, he'll be in a far better position than Koeman is. Players are starting to come back from injuries, they'll no doubt buy the striker and defender that Koeman so publicly stated was needed, and expectations will be lowered, plus $$$.
This will be a much sort after job if Koeman does go. Perhaps not for the likes of Ancellotti but as much as I rate him and he's been quality in the past, there's an argument that he underachieved with the biggest club in the league in his last 3 jobs. We're not quite in a position he'll be used to.
I personally want Koeman to stay though, I don't think the current situation is entirely down to him, and it may take a character like his to really shake it up behind the scenes.
