Ronald Koeman discussion

True test of a manager is stopping a rot and seeing green shoots of recovery as it’s ending. So far Koeman has badly failed on both counts.

The board should be weighing up options and should make a decision by mid-November at the latest: get rid or stick with him until summer.

The team did play hard last night. So there's that.

He did finally play some different players, so there's that.

I wanted us to get Traore badly last year, but we got Henry Onk instead, who might be as good, just not available. Was that a screw up? Who knows.

But I do wonder if Walsh and Koeman assumed we were getting a striker and CB when we signed Klasseen early. I still think there's a player in there, seen glimpses, but no way he's not more important than CB/LB cover and a CF.

That being said, although we would be much better with those two and not in the situation we are now, I still question Koeman and how things have been set up.

A new coach SHOULD be interested in the Everton gig. Coleman, Bolaisse, McCarthy, Barkley are all coming back. Assuming they rate the young guys, the influx of guys like Kenny and Lookman could be difference makers. There's a lot to be positive about.

Erm he did have Sadio Mane, a bloke who's in the shortlist for the Ballon D'or and had still had some good players at his disposal, Fonte and Pelle. In addition, Van Dijk adapted very well very quickly which can't hurt.

All except fonte was bought by him so he didn’t inherit anyone
Shane Long bailed Koeman out a fair few times, as odd as that sounds.

And I remember pelle and tadic in insane form beginning of 14/15 too

I think the board have to make a big decision here and let the fans know:
A) Back him for another transfer window and ride out the storm.
B) Sack him with immediate effect.

The club is becoming toxic in all areas, some answers on the immediate future are needed.

As far as I can see, if he's still here at the end of this month, he gets the next window at least. :(

Only Davies, Mirallas and Pickford looked up to it last night. Vlasic was bright and I like the look of him and lookman did well when he came on.

Was telling that the players only looked up for it the 5/10 mins after the scuffle and everyone was clearly pumped. But before and after? Almost nothing

It's only a matter of time before he's gone

We can sack Koeman and keep sacking all our managers until the crack of doom but nothing will change. The leaches running this club will be perfectly happy so long as we continue to tred water in the premier league. We won't get relegated but we'll remain right were we are now with nothing to look forward to except more of the same rubbish. Koeman isn't the illness infecting the club he's mearly the latest symptom of it.

You have to wonder whether Moyes actually 'got' the club much more than we care to admit, and operated within exactly what was on offer.

I wonder how many decent managers would actually want this job at the moment if he were to get his marching orders. After the club spent so much money replacing a lot of the deadwood we finally got rid of we now seem to be even further away from resembling a top side.

A new manager would be relying on a lot of out of form players to turn their form around plus hope funds are available for players that we need in positions we're ridiculously short in.

At the moment it's not exactly an enticing position for a fresh manager.

Not so sure, I do think there is quality in this squad which isn't being utilised. Coupled with the 6 million a year contract we are paying our manager I think there could be a few interested
