Let me assure you of this: Koeman won't join them...far too cautious. In fact, without a couple of hundred million invested into the squad no future Everton manager will break through into that group of managers mentioned above.

Terrible example in all fairness, as I can't imagine Matalan raising their prices just because you've told them how much money you've got.

PS I don't think Koeman was told 100m, but I am damn certain he was promised serious funds and not told he'll need to sell before he can buy.

I thought we'd got beyond the occasional myth of 'net spend' being the be all and end all of a successful team.If Stones had stayed,we might well have still got Bolassie and Gueye anyway, plus the few makeweights. There were certainly funds available,and the funds could have been spent...they were not 'blocked' by Moshiri...there were many other well documented reasons why some targets did not sign for us. Incidentally, most of our 'targets' were not transferred to anyone else either.....only perhaps Sissoko....the majority are still at the same clubs.
