Ronald Koeman discussion

There's no class in that though. It was Burnley. Bellyaching about not getting a point is not on. He needs to just take that on the chin and put it right.

It seems RK is incapable of just stowing it away and likes to blurt it out in some direction or another.

So you likely agree with him but don't like him being on twitter. That's fair enough.
To be honest, I don't listen to post-match interviews or look at twitter and wouldn't know about them if they weren't on here.

Maybe you should try not looking at them ? Less stressful that way.

Every single one of those managerial honours are practically worthless. The Spanish Cup is the only modestly decent trophy in that lot.
Has he got a relegation on his CV like?

Those honours as a player and manager simply don't compare with brown shoes eh mate?

I mean as a player Barca, Ajax and PSV, are a pale shadow of Wigan, Walsall and Swansea. The FL trophy completely outshines the European Cup and winning the Euro's

Lifting league titles as a manager doesn't count as much as fluking the FA Cup in a smash and grab at Wembley and then taking the club down.

2x consecutive 11th place finishes in the PL with a club like Everton, completely outshines taking a side like Soton to their highest top division finish in over 30 years......

12 months......lol

Player? Who was talking about player?

Manager-wise: he led Valencia to two points from relegation before they sacked him, Dutch titles are like SPL titles; and the other couple of baubles are Periera-esque level trinkets that flatter to deceive.

In the PL he has two respectable finishes. That's it...that's the measuring rod.

He's a mediocre manager who now has the platform to show he can be a very good manager.

The only laughable thing about a discussion of both managers is that most chuckled when Martinez was linked with Barcelona, whereas some believe it's likely that Koeman is going to be head hunted by the Catalans...now that IS funny!!!

No Dave, he's a very good manager who's been given the platform to show he can be a great manager.

Why not close the chapter on old brown shoes eh, he failed miserably and was rightly chucked in the skip. Making endless references to him in comparison to Koeman has become a tad repetitive

2 11th places with a club like Everton?

Hold on, what are we? I know what we WANT to be but what exactly are we? Sadly its a pretty standard position for a club like us. We have been also rans for 30 odd years.

What a manager does as a player is pretty irrelevant otherwise Alan Ball would have been a brilliant manager. I actually find that a lot of top players struggle as managers because they cant grasp that their players don't have the same ability that they did in their playing days.

We'd finished outside the top 8 once in 10 seasons before brown shoes rocked up.

So I'd suggest 11th wasn't a particularly standard position once and twice was a complete and utter failure

Big deal. We won nothing during any of this time and didnt come close to it.

We are a mid table team with aspirations of getting into Europe every once in a while. Lets not pretend that we are some all conquering side (of course we would all like to be..)

At the end of the day it all amounts to nothing really.

Roberto Martinez being linked with Barcelona is actually the funniest thing I've ever heard in my life though.

We'd finished in the top 6 - 6 years out of 10 prior to the last 2 seasons.

Being a bottom half side isn't what we are nor was it acceptable, hence the reason he got the sack.

Where have this seasons pages gone too, just logged on and seem to be stuck in Martinez reign era pages. They can't have loaded properly, *hits refresh, nope.

I'd say he got sacked because he "lost the dressing room" more than anything.

And he should have been sacked, I have not once said that he shouldn't have been. Doesn't mean I am pining for the glory days of "top 6 finishes" either.

I want to bloody win something, or at least look like we stand a chance of winning something instead of coming close and then bottling it like we do all the time.

Right, for starters, The Eredvisie is a far better standard and far more competitive than the SPL. That's a daft shout. You can try and twist things however you want, he has a far greater pedigree than any manager we have hired before (unless you count Kendall mk 2 & 3).

You gave 3 years of patience for a struggling manager. But now you feel the need to be right so strongly that you won't give Ronald Koeman 5 minutes.

You are beyond tedious.
