Ronald Koeman discussion

and is that not correct?

I suppose that depends on whether you have any self respect and respect for your own football club. In my experience most football fans believe their club to be the centre of the universe...and they EXPECT a manager to buy into their club and certainly not tout its own players to other clubs and send out a message that there's nothing worth building here.

Shocking how some people can't handle a bit of honesty.

Narcissism to the extreme. Did mummy tell you all how special you are every night before you soiled yourself in your sleep?
Yes, because it's exactly like that.

It's quite simple: our manager has told our players they can do better elsewhere at other football clubs.

You dont do that. You just DONT.

Imagine the fume among the Kopites happen Brent had said that about Suarez.

On certain occasions one has to tip one's hat to them.

That is a deplorable statement from Koeman.

They genuinely think they are the best club in the world and nothing is a step up from them. This goes from the top right down to the fans.

Its why they win stuff and we dont even though the playing staff are pretty equal talent wise.

Mentality is massive in football. It amazes me the amount of people who dont realize that.

In most fans eyes their club is the biggest,to me Everton would be the pinnacle of my career,to some one without any connection there is at least 5/6 clubs at least that are bigger just in England alone, any player with ambition should without doubt be aiming to play at the very top,but if Klopp had said the same about Coutinho people on here would be laughing, praise your players, yes, build up confidence, yes, but also build up the team and the club at the same time it was a silly thing to say especially after the manager just messed up tactically in a very one way game

It's the young Everton fans I feel sorry for. The ones who want Lukaku written on their Everton shirts. The ones who love Everton and are the future of our club. They're growing up with the manager talking about Everton like that! It is beyond absurd. We should be growing our fanbase not dismantling any notion of us being a force to be reckoned with.

If you read the posts, you'll see that the vast majority are from people accepting that what Koeman said is true, but that it is not a great endorsement of his employers and does not help to market the club either to new or existing stakeholders.

It's great to be honest and not constantly use hyperbole, but sometimes you have to use a bit of tact. We've all had those occasions where your other half says 'what are you thinking about?'. You don't say 'this new girl in work who is an absolute stunner' do you? Sometimes telling the truth does more harm than good, and I think this is one of them.

It was a terrible thing to say, no doubt. Thoughtless and stupid in equal measure.

Do we need to keep repeating ourselves. I think everyone knows where everyone stands.
