Ronald Koeman discussion

I wish he was a superstar manager we hired rather than a superstar ex-player.
Do you really? There was only one 'superstar' manager realistically attainable. The one with a long history of winning trophies with different European clubs.
The one with whom RK's managerial record, when compared, suggested RK simply wasn't in the same league. The one who said we were a smaller club than our erstwhile neighbours some years ago.

He does come across as a bit of a cold fish and I already said a few times on here that I found his Lukaku comments unnecessary and very disappointing.

But I still think he will leave us, whenever that is, in a good deal better shape than now, so he gets my backing.

In general, the less said the better, hopefully this Lineker interview will come off without incident.

Time to knuckle down and get some decent results and performances now.

lol at the current rate of things he will probably say he is only here to get the liverpool job instead,

Nah, it will be Linekar saying "You are now managing a club I played for Ronald"

"Did you?"

CUT.

Director. "Lets try that again eh lads?"

Or Gary will say that Everton team I played in was the best I ever had the pleasure of, Koeman just laughs and says I feel sorry for you that you never got to play with real players in a real team... :p

Will be interesting and i'm looking forward to it. I'm hoping he can come across more likeable and more knowledgeable about Everton, but I won't be holding my breath!!

I was eager for him to come in and stabalise things given the mess we were left with in the Summer. Couple of years in 6th-8th place before he looks for another pay day. Absolutely no issue with that if that's what he achieves. Then once commercial income has increased and we have a better base, we look to move on to the next level from there with a stadium in sight.

While that's happening though, wish he would keep quiet as the last couple of comments from him have been pretty ill-advised. What is it with our Beligian/ Dutch players and staff that make them talk such wham to the press?

Koeman is right to put our fan base back in its place. Some people have absolutely ridiculous expectations of us and him. We're at best the 7th best team in the league and we're performing like it, in his very first season.

It goes back to when Moyes had us finishing 5th, 6th, 7th etc. and people were bemoaning our inability to go to thw next level, despite being utterly skint every season and signing next to no players. No. It was his fault.

Now we've got a bit of money but our squad is terribly imbalanced and wafer thin. He got us up to 2nd and it seems some people expected us to stay there. I think we overachieved in those first few games. We're light years behind the top 6 when you consider squad, commercial performance and stadiums. How can we expect to do any better than we currently are?

Be realistic. We've got a billionaire owner now but so have all of the teams above us and some below us, and have done for some time. We're now starting to catch up with said top clubs but it will take a long time to be consistently up there, if it even happens at all.

BUT NO KEEP FOAMING LADS IT'S A DISGRACE

NO MATE ITS BECAUSE HE DOESNT GET THE CLUB OR CALL US PHENOMENAL OR DO BIG PUPPY DOG EYES IN HIS INTERVIEWS
