Ronald Koeman discussion

In fairness to our current footballing overlord you could say he did draw that conclusión and still maintains our youngsters are not ready.

We can speculate and assume that he doesnt see much of them but I would imagine he sees enough.

You or I, or another mánager might well risk more and give them a run but it doesnt mean Ronseal is wrong. We sign a pragmátic boss, then pragmatism is what we get.
Pragmatism involves playing Cleverley over Davies?

Ok.

Tom Davies has minutes under his belt for the first team, played the full match against Norwich and came on when we were getting bummed at Chelsea and looked our best player. I think he's ready.

Again very different to playing week in week out.

I'm not saying don't do it. I'm saying it's worth remembering he's literally only 18. And if things go wrong which they might it might not be the best time to play kids.

If they looked good enough in training perhaps they'd get a chance. That is the imponderable we don't know as we never witness it. Most as we know by now will never make it, however good they look in the kids league. Significantly ,perhaps, only Davies and Holgate are considered close enough. I'd wager on past experience the majority of them will never become PL players.
Should the manager play them just so we can see how unready they are? Would we forgive him if we were well beaten because of kids mistakes? Some might. I know I wouldn't

Not the same thing is it? Martinez in his first season by this point had us playing and winning and we looked like a good fit. That isn't the case with Koeman.

As for supporting him: he has that. I've stated umpteen times that I'd never get caught up in some knee jerk movement to remove him from the post this season. Any new manager deserves that. And in my criticism of him I ask only that he:

a) respects the club and measures his words (his 'blunt talking Dutchman act simply wont be tolerated here)
b ) gets us playing at least some quality football from time to time in this first season
c) he bloods younger players and doesn't mothball our academy in the same way he did at S'ton

...not too much to ask for really, is it?

However, one was a constant top 6/7 squad, one is a mid-lower table squad. Martinez was up to his job in his first season but we had seen his true colours when he inserted his style and signing of his players.

You did seem quick to draw a bold conclusion. Think you have to see what is the finial position will be in May. For me May is still too early to judge because 2 seasons will be a fair crack not 6 months with a not good enough squad left over by Martinez.

This isn't a bad squad
I agree RK needs time to Instill his style of play and also get some more of his own players in
The problem he faces is football is a brutal business and is result driven, the problems he has at the moment iare three fold
1. Results at the moment are poor
2. The style of football is poor
3. His overall attitude towards the club is poor

Now for me he needs to improve on the poor, if he doesn't this brutal side of the game may catch up on him

His future lies in his own hands and two of the above 3 are easy to rectify...

Strangely I fancy us tmrw....

Seemed alright first five games. Maybe they are good enough but they cant take to Koeman after the initial novelty of him has worn thin.

Koeman is absolutely effing useless, and a shameless mercenary to boot - doesn't even feel his owes us the effort of a half-hearted attempt at looking invested in Everton, our history, our tradition, our culture, our success. His tactics are hopeless, his football is horrific, his signings are idiotic at best - abject at worst.

Can someone explain to me WTF we paid £30m to get Bolasie for - to add to our other 6 incosistent peripheral wingers - any why he continues to drone on about needing to buy strikers unless we start scoring when our midfield play is atrocious, our creativity non-existent, and our desperate need for a quality CM painfully self-evident? We're being linked with Depay and Van Dyke. I hope to god they're just typical bullshit rumours because they are not at all the players we need, and the prices quoted are insane.

Loss of Hibbert, Osman, Pienaar, Naismith ripped the spirit out of the squad. Bunch of half-arsed mercenaries, without leadership or sense of team unity between them - all individuals. The football is disjointed, utterly bereft of cohesion - and that plank Koeman just takes off the steady, keep-it-simple team players who should be used to knit the play together, in favour of more wingers and strikers.

I couldn't believe when he took off Lennon, McCarthy and then Baines, FFS, against Southampton, to throw on Deulofeu, Valencia and Mirallas (who, to his credit, played half-decent). He just wiped out the midfield and the attacking composure of Baines and we just lumped it aimlessly for the last 30 mins. We did the same against Swansea - it was pathetic, abysmal, unwatchable.

We have to get rid ASAP.

Please tell me that youre an attractive single wealthy female...i think i love you

xoxoxo

Koeman hasn't made the best of starts, but I suppose he did inherit a bottom half outfit.

We we're winning then though mate, now we're losing the tune changes.

The players are easily adequate enough to get results. They proved that in the first five league games. Remember all the 'best start in generations' breast beating - all done with these players.

I wouldn't suggest we dont need players in, but it's a bad craftsman that blames their tools.
