Ronald Koeman discussion

Mate we have been embarrassing lately. 1 or 2 players to add a bit of enthusiasm would not harm anyone.

It might though. People seem to think playing these young guys is going to solve everything. It might.

But what if it doesn't. We've lobbed young lads into an already struggling team. WELL DONE RONALD.

People don't seem to be thinking about the other way it could go.

Covering his arse with that statement.

I'd rather they were brought in when ready to play more than a couple of games, when they are really ready to stake a claim. Bringing them through to appease fans is a one way recipe for disaster and could ruin them. Our fans aren't very forgiving at the moment, not a good environment to blood youngsters.

A bit different playing a few minutes here and there to playing week in week out which people seem to be clambering for. I'll trust the manager and the fact he works closely with Unsworth over people's gut feeling on here myself.

Holgate is curious though. I have to admit.
They aren't even getting time off the bench regularly, hell there not even making the bench most of time. Sorry but given what I've seen of current team, the young lads and Unsworths comments I'm not buying it.

Still a touch too early for me. I'm a firm believer that all managers need a chance. What I would say is I thought it would be much much better than this. I agree with those who say he looks distant to the club, although I'm not sure that matters.

But as I've said before the only thing that matters to me is results. I wouldn't give a toss if you were the manager, Dave was the striker and Khal was the box to box midfielder. We just need results. December look daunting now.

I'd class my self as neutral now from a previous very pro-Koeman stance, but it shows I'm open minded.

I genuinely think I could do a better management job than Koeman is doing at the moment.

For instance, I'd put Cleverley straight into the starting line-up, need his energy right now

I wouldn't worry I doubt he'll be bringing any of them through.

It will mean we will get beat again from a lackluster performance, It will then tell us maybe they are not ready or these kids can make the grade.
It also sends a signal to the senior players that they are not un-droppable, it might well give them a well needed volley right up their arse..
We are completely lacking in energy, drive and passion. That is what a young player will offer.

I think Koeman is dead right on the youngsters. Except Davies who looks a player. And more importantly rolls down his socks like he's George Best!!

I'm glad you can look at it the other way. It's about risk reward.

I fully understand that putting in some kids could make a massive positive difference.
However, if it went the other way the damage to these promising kids could be horrible.

For me at least it's not as easy as saying 'play the kids everything will be ok then'. I don't think it will be.

Ha. He certainly looks to have something to most of us.

But it's also worth remembering he was only 18 in the summer.

Even that Josh Sims for Saints was a little older.

i think that the people who actually watch "the kids" regularly in training and U-23 fixtures - namely, the manager, and not 99% of those who post here - deserve the benefit of the doubt.
