Ronald Koeman discussion

I don't believe the idea that the squad needs replacing is a reasonable one because I don't believe that's the real issue. its being used by people to hide behind the truth which is koeman is not getting what he can out of the current bunch.
I'd say the idea of replacing this squad (well a good portion of it) was a 'reasonable' idea. Because this squad has had plenty of chances. But equally its fair to say Koeman isn't getting the best out of this squad either at present. He's made it clear he's not happy with them and its showing. They either needed to respond or not. And they haven't. To me this squad needs an overhaul. Old players and uncommitted players not in tune with the manager. Koeman should have done better at getting them onside and then systematically changed the squad. So I agree to an extent (he could have done better so far).
Now what we've got is a period of uncertainty. But things have to change one way or the other. Todays game will tell me all i need to know about this group. If they don't have a go today, Koemans philosophy or not, then they lack backbone.

If they don't like the manager that's fair enough, but the effort should be put in for the paying fans who are travelling from all over the place. It s different from the Martinez era, because now the players will go before the manager!

Come on Ron, it's time to get them playing.

Win today and we will be sat in 6th which the majority of us would have been happy with at this stage of the season.

Keep us up there for the next few weeks then replace the feckless players you inherited in January and let's build from there.

Yes, all this really.

Fair enough - I've seen what I would consider to be adequate evidence that the bloke isn't going to bring anything at all to the table.
If we were to go with attitudes like yours then Moyes would of been sacked during the 03-04 season when we finished 17th. No doubt you'd of seen all the evidence you'd of needed then to and we'd of missed out on our best season in the premier league era. These things take time, the bloke has only been here a few months ffs. If some on here have their way, we'll go down the same road as Sunderland and sack manager's non stop.

the squad Moyes had in 03-04 was extremely poor in terms of quality bar Rooney and everyone recognised that at the time. You cannot tell me the likes of Del, Lukaku, Mirallas, Baines and Coleman lack quality. At present what we have is a gang of insubordinate and unmotivated players who are ignoring anything the manager says - or, more plausibly, as Koeman is very rarely at training anyway, just doing what they want with very little input from the manager.

win or not today mate ( and I'm desperate for us to win ) I've had it with this set of players.

no team spirit and just a gang of individuals playing for themselves. Only 2 I'd be happy to keep is Gueye and Williams.

2 and a half years these have been robbing a living from us, can't wait until they are shipped out and hungrier players brought in.

I agree mate. For those blessed with enough talent to play for our great club (or any pro club for that matter) the first thing required is the will and mindset to work and try as hard as you can. Professional pride should drive them on. And playing for the fans should be a given too.
It does look like the players are more vulnerable than the manager at the moment. In some ways that worries me (for this season) because they've no motovation it seems.

I desperately want us to win today because we need to. But I know where you're coming from. They've had their chances under Martinez then and Koeman now. I want to see their attitude today. Because this in Man Utd. If theyre not up for this then.....
Of course I expect them to be, but then lets see at Watford next week too.
I remember Rom against City in the 1st leg of the Semi final at Goodison last season. Excellent. Last week against Southampton he was so poor. Its not just him though, there's several of them.

and that's what it is mate, it's nothing to do with skill. They have that. It's attitude and it absolutely stinks. Rom is a boss slotter and when he's on it he's superb. But he totally believes his own hype and it's all about him. The same for Mirallas. The same for Del. The same for Ross. The same for Bolasie though I'm cutting him slack because at least he picks himself back up and has a go.

The whole of our forward line have an attitude problem and a lack of desire to work hard from the front and pin opposition teams down.

They helped get Martinez the sack ( he done a bloody good job of it himself as well! ) and if Koeman isn't careful he will be out of a job come February time of he persists with this shower of crap

Who has improved since year one of Martinez? I would say Lukaku and maybe Robles... not really sure there's anyone else.

Stagnated or worse: Coleman, Jagielka, Baines, Barkley, Deulofeu, Mirallas, Gibson, Oviedo, Kone, McCarthy, McGeady...

Seems hard to believe two very different managers could be entirely to blame...

Any idea what he means by this?

"Of course you like to have every weekend a win because everyone is happy but sometimes to get your eyes really open maybe this time is the best to understand that if you need to change but we need to change.”

Not a clue what that means. o_O

Scary thing is at least 50% of them will be in the starting 11 today
