Ronald Koeman discussion

He supposedly had the backing of the board in the summer and built the squad he deemed good enough to improve us.

So that leads me to question the following decisions by Koeman:

- Signing Stekelenberg as first choice keeper. I could potentially understand him coming in as a backup in place of Robles, but first choice, seriously?

- Signing Bolasie, and for at least double what he's worth. Do we not have a scouting system? Literally everybody knows Bolasie is utter turd.

- Not getting in a second striker until the very last minute, and even then rummaging around for unwanted dirge, and on loan.

Baffling to say the least.

No mention of Gana or Williams tho... Hmmm ok mate.

I've always maintained that mate. It's crazy not to give him until this time next season.

If we're still playing like this or if we're not getting the results we should with a big outlay of cash then he has to go. But until then he's secure as far as I'm concerned.

I agree with what you are saying regarding giving him time.

But if this run of form continues and we get spanked in the derby then a decision has to made and its a kin big decision.

thats fair enough, and think most fans are aware now finally that the players deserve a good portion of the blame, but what do you make of the hoofy tactics he seems to favour? id love to see stats on how much possession is lost from those long balls.

Ive said all along he prefers a direct style, its ugly at the moment, but the amount of times there wasnt a pass on today was shocking, ive seen mannequins offer more movement.

Personally I couldnt care less what football we play, results matter.

I give Everton managers longer than 14 games mate.

I gave the last utter clown 2 and a half years before I turned on him.

Hes got till the end of Season 2, if theres no improvement, I might consider demanding he be sacked.
That's my stance too on giving him time. But you're welcome to the footy he serves up. It's embarrassing Wimbledonesque stuff. It embarrasses anyone connected to this club.

Maybe we can't progress with this team, maybe it's them who are the problem and were we've been for the last two seasons is their level. Just a thought like. We've looked clueless and aimless for most of last two season's. So we've got two manager's with very different styles of management both failing to get improvement out of the team. What's the common denominator here?
This is a double 11th position squad ,cannot be changed overnight.Needs quality bringing in before it gets better.

It's not about the money he's spent or lack thereof...it's not about the quality of the squad or lack thereof. It's the fact that we don't seem to have any sort of plan whatsoever beyond hoof and hope.

I think it's a fair criticism.

But you can't act like money doesnt matter. Money has bought the clubs above the likes of Mane, De Bruyn, Sanchez, Hazard, Costa, Ozil, etc..,

I'm not his greatest fan - putting it mildly. I did want Koemanin though. I'm embarrassed by that now, but I'm not a hypocrite so I'll stand by him and hope he gets it right.

I understand yours and others anger, I'm angry myself. But I'd give it 12 months, tbf.

The common denominator would be neither manager appears to be good enough at this point.

Koeman is getting paid a lot of money to get these players motivated. I do think they get some of the blame, but the manager picks them.

If they aren't willing to do what he wants of them, then he shouldn't be picking them. Period, end of.
Who should we of brought in to be our manager mate? Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola? He's the best we could get. Does that make me sad about the state the club is in? Yes it does but it's the truth and we have to face it. The players we've got never get motivated, they hardly ever did under Martinez who played the 'best mate' manager role and they don't seem motivated now either. They are the problem, not the manager. Should he play some kids? Maybe, but perhaps he doesn't want them infected by the hopeless bunch of quitters we have in the first team. Koeman obviously isn't blameless for what's going on atm but how anyone can look at these players and the lack of effort they've made for over two years and still blame the manager is ludicrous.

ah ok. we differ on that then. i hate the thought of returning to % football. not for me at all. I've had my fill of it.

movement is close to the biggest problem with that squad. it's insane how poor they are at it. we need to hook them up with some device to wear on their body that allows a lucky chosen fan each game to hit them with an electric shock every time they stand around like zombies.
