Ronald Koeman discussion

just trying to highlight knee jerk reactions, but i can actually see him being mentioned if/when koeman leaves
As he is a blue we are obviously his dream job, so when/if we come calling he would jump at the chance am sure. Maybe in 3-4 years from now

Moshiri will go with the flow. If fans aren't happy he'll be gone. If he (Koeman) is not happy he'll be gone.

It's absurd to say that any manager has three seasons at least in a job. That's not the way this industry works. It might sound very authoritative to declare it, but it's fundamentally wrong.

I tend to agree here. There is an assumption that because we are Everton, that makes us immune to the sacking manager syndrome, as much as I think that doesn't tend to achieve anything, and wouldn't for a club in our position at the moment. I see it as very unlikely but by no means impossible.

I assume Koeman being on such a lucrative contract wouldn't walk of his own volition, not least before trying to shape the squad with his own players. If he was given false assurances as to the budget available, I think he will be very forthright in letting everyone know.

I took some hope from spells in the game yesterday, and it might turn out to be an important point saved.

Koeman leaving would be a disaster on several levels, and this is hypothetical, but another defeat yesterday coupled with a continued poor run and derby defeat, and the scrutiny from fans in particular would go up another notch entirely, and questions would be asked in the media.

Ultimately I think 1) We have a poor squad depleted of confidence and motivation 2) Whilst inhibited by the squad, Koeman needs to be doing more to get results and improve our play. 3) We'll soon get an idea of what money is available to begin rebuilding the team, and need to try and get 2 or 3 in January.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy as a fan to give him more time. As you say, he's been here 4 months.

But come on Toff, that was absolutely horrific football yesterday.

I think if Schneiderlin joins us next month- and let's face it we can never have too much Snide in the side (@the sniderman ) - I think he, Gana and Barry will make us a pretty good central midfield. Or Barry will drop out altogether.

Currently in the "third spot" we are carrying either an out of form and confidence Barkley or a hopefully out of chances and out of the club Snivelley in a key part of the team.

1 win in 9 league games.

7 pts from a possible 27 pts.

Can't believe with that form we're still 8th.

Obviously still early days for Koeman, and he needs a good 12 mths under his belt to be properly judged.

Going though bad form hopefully yesterday is the turning point. At least we did not lose and show some fight in the end.

Can't whack his sense of humour.

Agree. But don't ye think he is taken a very long time to impose his style of play (whatever that is) you can see already with say City what Pep is trying to do, high line, high tempo football, although no executing it to perfection just yet but at least you can see what he trying to do.

I'm struggling to see what Koemans is? (don't give me he needs new players situation) I 100% agree he does yes, but what is our style of football? I hope its not what we seen yesterday..

Yes I am still behind him (until next season at least) but I need to start seeing something

Schneiderlin just makes sense doesn't it. Was he even in their squad yday?
I fear though Orls that we need a playmaker in there (in place of Barry probably, although I love the geriatric heart-throb) just to play a few passes and knit us together.

Jose summed it up yday, "Everton don't play beautiful football anymore, they play direct".

If direct football was leading to points, fair enough. Unfortunately, it's bringing us eff all.
