Ronald Koeman discussion

He is an Everton man, for 3 seasons at least - his interests are perfectly aligned with ours.

That goes against everything we know about football...and Koeman himself, btw.

If he cant produce better than this then he wont be around for much longer anyway, and his own track record shows that three seasons is a long time in the managerial career of Ronald Koeman - a milestone he only occasionally reaches.

I deem Moshiri will give him at least 3 years unless we get anything lower than 7th two seasons in a row.

Moshiri will go with the flow. If fans aren't happy he'll be gone. If he (Koeman) is not happy he'll be gone.

It's absurd to say that any manager has three seasons at least in a job. That's not the way this industry works. It might sound very authoritative to declare it, but it's fundamentally wrong.

That is the plan anyway. That is if we are around the Europa place spot then surely he will continue his work here for 3 years at least.

Funny indeed, Toff.

But I think you'll find anyone calling for the manager's head are reacting more to the fact we have now lifted a mere 7 points from the last 33 on offer rather than the fact we "merely" forced a late draw against a very ordinary Manchester United team.

Not that I am among their ranks, Toff.

Unless this bad run becomes a total Mike Walker era disaster zone I won't be wanting him out any time soon.

But that doesn't mean other fellows are not reading the runes right.

People need to wake up and smell the coffee here......we are on a dangerous slope and even a welcome twenty minute cameo from the Ghost of Everton Past cannot quell the sickening feeling that we are treading on mud right now and in danger of being dragged into a very messy mire between now and the New Year :(

Agree with a lot of this Khal but I don't think we are in as bad a mess as I thought. With a quick change of management we could turn this round and have a fine season.

I think under Martinez we had 20 points from 21 games in the second season so we are 7 games up on that (and still finished 11th) - I'd like to see us get to 30 points at the halfway stage to give us any chance of getting Europe. 10 points from 15 is probably well beyond these biffs however.

I think, psychologically , the return to 4-2-3-1 (having changed it at the start of the season) has had an impact on the side. Why persist with a setup that hasn't worked for two years and continues not to work? You look at Conte's Chelsea side and three at the back can work. Or just a variation of boring old 4-4-2. The first half performance, and setting up with just Lukaku up front, hasn't worked for a while, and if Koemoyes is now forced to change it, this is ok

"Around the EL spot" is a bit ill-defined. From next season on a EL spot should be our minimum shouldn't it?

And yet even after two solid year's of total bilge with your beloved as manager you still argued he should get more time. Your hypocrisy is beggars belief.

I really don't know what Moshiri's view on this. I guess the bottom line is the first two seasons shall be around the EL spot. Anything lower than 7th is not acceptable.
