Not even sure where to put this but I hate starting threads on a random musing.
One of the weirdest things to me is how much our play has changed. It's like Koeman came into the club, saw what the positives are/were, and then said 'but I'm not going to do them'. Biggest instance: Lukaku. I think we can all agree, whilst he is not the worst, Lukaku is not someone who you just cross balls into the box he is going to score. You put the ball in front of him, he will get goals. We don't have anyone who hoofing a ball really is beneficial for except maybe Jags as he is petrified of the ball and wants it as far away as possible when he gets it near him.
And then our recruitment policy. I get the idea of you get players in their prime because youth makes mistakes. They have to in order to learn how to NOT make mistakes. I get it, makes sense. Then why, on EARTH, did we target Sissoko and Bolasie?? They are literally the opposite of consistency.
I dunno, was just thinking about these things this morning, wanted to thoughts out.
