Ronald Koeman discussion

Moyes spent £36M net between 2002 and 2009 - FACT.
Martinez had a negative net spend of £15M n the season he took us to 5th and smashed the club PL popints record by 7 points.
Koeman has bought a good one in Gueye, half decent in Williams, and wasted about £30M on the others he brought in so far.
So who dont you rate in the team now mate ?

Dave it does not work like that. You just cannot take things out to suit your agenda.

Moyes had a negative net spend of £20.2m the season he took us to 4th and secured a CL place.

See what I mean?

I know. Such a shock that Moyes finally broke our 1996 transfer record fee of £5.75 million for Nick Barmby with James Beattie for £6 million in 2005.

£0.25 million in nearly a decade. Bank of England club
Fellaini £13M
Yakubu £11M
Johnson £9M
Bilyaletdinov £9M

...in the mid to late 2000s was some layout by the standards of the day.

As said: he wasn't bankrolled, but neither was he a hard done to pauper.

The figures are there to back that up.

How is it doing that?

Question: (forget about season 2 and 3 under Martinez) did he not come here and sell, in his first summer here, players worth £15M more in value than the one's he brought in? And did he then go on in that first season to finish 5th with a record points total for us in the PL?

How can you forget and take season 2 and 3 out of scrutiny? Pretty certain you are taking things to suit your agenda. £16m net spend. They were facts. Got 11th and 12th when he was sacked were also facts.

Squad-wise:

Baines
Jagielka
Stekelenburg
Cleverly
Mirallas
Kone
Valencia

The rest we can easily get a good quality team out of and with a bench to spare. They just need setting up to win matches rather than hide behind the couch - the way this manager likes it apparently.

Yes they are, and I dont duck them. The saving grace in the last two seasons were three decent cup runs and a handful of great away performances in the league on the counter.

I dont forget them. But they're not the whole story...something others might care to remember...usually the ones singing loudest back then about the school of science being reopened and Roberto's Blue Army.

You forget Gibson, Lennon, McCarthy, Oviedo, Niasse and McGeady etc? There are dozens to get rid.

Not saving grace for me cup runs against League 1 side is meaningless unless you went on to win the cup plus the worst ever home record rang the alarm.

If we do care to see the whole story then the whole regime must come under scrutiny not picking up the brighter bits to cover up his shortcoming.

...or vice versa.

Gibson and Niasse and McGeady arent even serious propositions. McCarthy, Lennon and Oviedo would walk into another midtable PL team like us.

Oviedo would probably pull his hamstring while he walks into said midtable PL team. His leg break wrecked him. He's turbo gash now and a shadow of the talent he appeared to be,
