Ronald Koeman discussion

I think Moshiri is in a bit of a bind now.

Even we did have a lot of money to spend, is this man to be trusted in the spending of it?

These are dismal days with no light in the tunnel this side of Christmas.

One positive thing, and its a big if as hes new in the job himself is that we have a Director of footy now and given that, then THEY should be the one deciding who comes in or not - in which case we will spend irregardless of the manager etc.

then again given that the links we are getting all seem to have ties to koeman it makes me wonder who is picking the players we are after

We're gonna keep seeing this tripe until Koeman brings in his players. Most of the current squad are a bunch of bottlers who admitted to downing tools on El Fraudo. There's a rotten core to this squad that needs cutting out and discarding - that will take a few windows to complete. Said at the beginning of the season I wasn't expecting much change in how we play this season and I stand by that. If we get a decent cup run and finish in the top half this season I would call that a result.

The mentality of the squad has been completely ruined over the last three years and key performers from a bygone era haven't been replaced. That's the primary reason we see the results we do currently.

Koeman might not be the man to sort it out but coming to that conclusion after 4 months is nonsensical.

If Sunderland can stand by their manager when they were without a win until November then we can cope with being 9th place.

Massively beyond him to try anything different. So out of his depth it's unreal. Can't wait to see the players targeted in January to play 'his way'.

On that note, he came in to a Southampton side that had been gutted. I don't remember him claiming that there he needed to change everything in order to get a result.

I think he should be given more time and feel the bulk of the blame lays with the players and certain members behind the scenes at the club however I must admit I am becoming a bit bemused at the clash between his statements and then the actual things that happen.

It was stated he takes no mercy with under-performers. But yet, relatively the same team starts every week and proven lacklustre performers such as McCarthy are the only ones re-instated. Barkley has been dropped but what about the others?

Wait, we don't have a big enough squad, but wait, weren't we supposed to have one in place before the season, but wait, it took us ages to appoint him and then he didn't have enough time, but wait, we did identify some targets, but wait, other evil teams nabbed them off us, boo, and then some of the players didn't want to sign for us, if you can believe such a thing!

Some things never change. All very Everton.

That side hadn't endured three years of working "the Martinez method". I hate that bloody clown with a passion for what he has done to this club.

Not happening - Ron is here for the long haul as Moshiri's choice.

Depends do what you regard as "long haul".

This continues much longer Moshiri will have to consider his options.....if for no other reason that his investment will go for a bath if this form is carried on into the new year and we wind up relegated.

He cannot let it get anywhere near that stage without at least thinking of rolling the dice and cutting his losses in the hope a change of managership would give us the boost needed to save the day.

And he will definitely pull the plug on him if we are pretty much in this same state twelve months from now.

IMO Koeman gets to the season end if the ship is steadied and we do in fact stay around mid table.

But if thus dull, tactically clueless stuff continues into next season he won't make Christmas 2017.

he had a very similar run at S'ton last year and turned it around on boxing day Khal.

He is a good manager.

ATM he's not doing one or two things that should improve us though, based on what we've seen.

If he tried that, and it didn't work out, I wouldn't have an issue. But as bad as these players are, he's sticking with the same old stuff.

Needs a big window this January because atm he can fall back on the players are to blame for the poor performances but i have serious doubts over how tactically astute he really is. Some decisions have been questionable at best and whenever things start going badly in game he only seems to know throw on Valencia and basically go 442 and hope something happens.

We will truly find out when he has the players he wants.
