Would the long term futures of Pedri and Puig benefit from a loan elsewhere to play without having to deal with any probable fallout of the situation as it is now? Barca have the ability/ luxury to shield younger players against potentially ruinous situations that other clubs just can't afford to do.

Good luck on Messi/ Bartomeu - there'll be plenty of trouble brewing there. For me the best outcome may be an amicable farewell to Messi on Barca's terms over this and/ or next season, and Bartomeu to leave in a graceful manner.

There is precedent for loans to have helped players at a variety of clubs but at Barca, no player that has gone out on loan has ever ended up staying at the club. So, for me, I would say it's a no go to send Puig & Pedri out. Particularly when you consider Pedri already was a starter in the 1st division of the Primera Liga - not sure how it can be rationalized he needs to go out on loan. The issue is Pjanic who effectively was part of that dubious transfer with Juve where Arthur went the other direction - a case of financial shell game to balance the books. Same would apply to Puig in that Pjanic's presence makes it harder for him to get minutes, especially if Koeman will insist on a double pivot

Youth development at Barca is a bit of a hallmark at the club similar to Ajax so imagine if Xavi or Iniesta were shipped out on loan when they were 19-20. Puig should be going nowhere, especially if the intent is truly to remake the squad via a youth revitalization. Trust in the cantera, always

As for Messi, I believe it is outrageous that he has been pressured into staying when clearly he wanted to leave - a disgrace but hopefully the first step to remedying that situation will involve the removal of Bartomeu in the next month. It may not keep him from wanting to leave in June but it would help course correct the club nevertheless

❗️Suárez: "The club wanted changes and the coach didn't count on me."

— Suárez: "I want to show that I can continue to perform at a high level."

Got no time for Koeman at all.
Very good player on the field as judged by goals cups and things, but if iirc, he was a bit of a cheat, a snide (in a bad way) and a spitter... allegedly
Add to that Niasses locker thing and the red xmas decos...how low can he go

Have you guys signed anyone yet? I’ve noticed a few outgoings and trying to push some players out which is surely a big risk given Griezmann’s form last season, and your best player not wanting to be there

Trincao - sensational young talent from Braga
Pedri - another excellent young midfielder, sadly being linked on a loan away due to Pjanic's arrival
Pjanic - financial shell game with Juve has led to his arrival
Garcia - not official but simply a matter of time for his return; excellent talent + Catalan and a club Captain at every youth level. His pending arrival (along with emergence of Araujo) is likely the reason why Todibo is marginalized so club can get maximum value in the market

Biggest needs are at FB & striker. Rumoured deals close, at least with FB, we'll see if they end up with a legitimate #9 as well

Ahh I forgot about Pjanic. Weird decision to essentially swap Arthur (who given the age gap is definitely a better prospect) for Pjanic.

sounds you’ve mainly brought in talent for the future, but I don’t see any of those players replacing Suarez this season. Will your midfield this season be Pjanic, De Jong, and one of the new signings do you think?

I have watched Garcia a number of times and I honestly think you may be a tad disappointed.
He's OK but nowhere near the 'wunderkid' build up you have given him.
I genuinely wish him all the best but it's hardly the end of the world for City when he goes.

Weird or simply a financial shell game to cook the books? Both really

None of these incoming players are strikers and let's face it, as much as Toffees likely hate Suarez no one can replace a player of his profile IMHO

I think it seems pretty clear that Koeman likes the double pivot and playing Messi as a false 9. For once since Neymar left, the team has strength in the wide areas. Besides Fati, Trincão is going to be an instant impact player - a marvelous talent, genuinely a bit in disbelief. Pedri is not far off but I fear he will suffer in Koeman's rotation and be relegated to paltry minutes. I believe Barto will close the deal on at least 1 if not 2 more players before the window closes for the season - a FB and forward/striker, possibly Eric Garcia if a reasonable fee is agreed (Else he arrives on a free in June)

But I agree, not just replacing Luis' goals will be an issue but the intuitive connection on the pitch with Leo will not materialize out of thin air. I still see a great connection possible with Ansu & Trincão however

Garcia is one of those youth talents most cules were devastated to see leave 3 years ago - he has been a leader at every youth category, a teammate with Ansu & Kubo to form the spine of one of Spain's most dominant youth collections since that of Messi, Cesc & Pique. They demolished opponents in & out of Spain

I trust in the cantera and I love the profile of Garcia, I too have followed him at City. I was crushed when he left but thrilled he is returning, I see our future captain in him
