Laporta gave a vote of confidence to Koeman which, at the very least, means he will be ensured continuity into the 2nd season
In Joan's 1st tenure there were many calls to sack Rijkaard during early struggles (Ahead of the 2006 CL success) and he resisted despite board members resigning in protest. That is to say, the President publicly showing support to Ron means he will not be abandoned very easily - earliest summer
Allardyce might get his shot at the "big time" after all ...Ahh the Koeman 2nd season....
Looking good tonight.
This does not fit the narrative I wanted to play out! lolYes, they have improved quite a bit despite missing a couple of key players (Pique & Fati). I don't always like the tactical setup under Koeman or his subs but it's clear they are improving their understanding & collective play, limiting danger at the back while manufacturing & finishing improved scoring chances
Which means Koeman continues unless a massive collapse occurs. Leo looks happy & motivated by the youth movement and buoyed by Laporta's renewed enthusiasm within the club. Remarkable turn of events in 7 months tbh - future looks bright
Think the difference here is that Koeman is having to work at it. The Barca job, like the Dutch job, means something to him. All the others were just a paycheck, which is fair enough. This does not fit the narrative I wanted to play out! lol
Looks like you are stuck with Moonhead for a while then.

Will be interesting to see who gets brought in as the big Summer signing. Seems to be a lot of confidence in beinfable to afford Haaland or Lauturo Martinez, post debt restructuring.
If you were going to gamble some money, where would you back Haaland to be playing next season?Yep, Laporta pitched his sporting plan to Raiola & Haaland Sr. today in an initial contact over his potential signing that was described as positive first meeting (Addtl meetings planned)
Player & his entourage likely to get everyone's best pitch before deciding what he will do but sounds like he will absolutely be sold this summer after having discussed with BVB the fee they rate Erling at

I can't see him anywhere except Manchester City, but would appreciate your take on his chances of going to La Liga.
Interesting perspective, would also appreciate @PaulPowersTash and @Alan Whittle for his thoughts. How would Haaland fit in the Palace system?I could be completely off the mark here, but there seems to be a nervousness from some of the "elite" about Man City.
Footballers are concerned with legacy & there is still an air of players getting no credit for their achievements at city, because of the project and what it all entails. Pep, KDB and others have all referenced recently that City and their players never get the personal awards and achievements. Haaland, M'Bappe etc want to win the Balon D'or more than they do a title with whoever pays them the most cash.
As I said, just a hunch. City deserve more credit than the get - but I think it might be something that niggles with players & even prospects.
interested to get your thoughts @PaulPowersTash

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it. Just curious, why aren't you as much of a fan of the player as others are?I see Barca as an outside shot since a club like City or RM might tick more boxes for him but of course I am also not as much a fan of the player as others are. Laporta got 1st chance to convince and generally he succeeds in signing his targets so I see it as a positive initial sign when not so long ago this prospect was implausible - no longer
