Only partially related, the part where Tusquets (one of Bartomeu's minions) delayed the elections against club statutes. However, the arrests are linked to the leaked 'Barcagate' incident from 12 months ago which is more accurately Bartogate where he laundered club finances to pay a social media company to spy & undermine/criticize those employed at the club, including players like Messi

Price Waterhouse was hired to conduct an internal audit and give them the illusion that nothing illegal was done - clearly, that was a whitewash

Given his predecessor, Sandro Rosell also served 20 months for money laundering, maybe a fit and proper person test might be advisable in future.

Many fans, including myself, warned how dangerous/destructive electing corporate clowns like Rosell and Bartomeu would be

Future is bright however, Laporta incoming for course correction
 
He was only really brought in to Everton as a panic appointment, I doubt was would of appointed him, if other people were available. Even in his first season, we were pretty awful, the games against the RS, Swansea, Southampton, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Bournmouth, Watford, and West Ham spring to mind. The ridiculous signings in the summer of 2017, plus failing to replace Lukaku was also unforgiveable. He's left us with so much of the deadwood in the team, wasting huge amounts of money on average players, also his treatment on Niasse was appalling.
 

Pep will eventually return, to the cantera - his days of coaching the 1st team are over, he has flatly refuted any speculation he would ever return to that post

Nagelsmann has been rumoured but Joan doesn't make kneejerk decisions with a coach and team chemistry seems to be improving - tactics, that's a different story (much grimmer). Koeman was on his short list before hiring Rijkaard and Laporta would be very wary of disrespecting a club legend like Ron. I think it'll depend on how the season ends up but Xavi is the logical heir

But it's a great day for the club, 7 months ago I couldn't have imagined we'd be here now after that Messi interview. Lot to look forward to now, finally
